True authentic island getaway! We stayed for a week, and everything was absolutely fantastic! Room was nice and clean. There's a kitchen, huge bathroom, wifi, amazing view! No TV or AC, but who needs that right? The room was very cool both at night and in the daytime. Price was good too.

Flying into Dominica was magical. The Island is very different from the others in the Caribbean, mountainous and covered in lush rain forest, like something out of Jurassic Park. But when we set eyes on our apartment and it's setting we felt we had won the lottery. The view from either apartment, we were on the upper floor, was to die for.It was an absolute pleasure to get up at 5 am to watch the sun rise and the waves rolling into Hodges bay.Whatever the weather you cold never tire of it. Our Host Trevor "Tiko" Newall, had most generously donated the prize of his accommodation to a benefit for the family of a boxing college who had tragically died. This just sums up his personality & generous nature. He couldn't do enough for us. He was attentive without being intrusive & has extensive local knowledge of the Island. The apartment was airy, spotless, and equipped for self catering. Tiko even provided us with a gas BBQ so we could have intimate family meals on he balcony, as the sun went down over the stunning view. To see humming birds in the gardens was amazing. It's a wildlife haven. A short stroll down the road took us to a fabulous place to eat, Poz. It was so good we eat there most of the time. Troy the owner is a star & like everyone else on the Island falls over backwards to make your stay memorable. He even provided us with English sausages, homemade burgers & had a cake made on my husbands 50 Birthday! It was delicious! He also delivered "takeouts" to our apartment personally. The place is traditionally decorated & beautifully presented giving it a real intimate feel.He also boasts tree house accommodation which are stunning & a pool which is lit up at night & available for customers to use. We used "Wendy" from "Untouchable Tours" to explore the Island, who is a fabulous character & passionate about his Island. His local knowledge is unbeatable & is invaluable especially when it comes to the tropical rain & how it may effect your experience. He took us to a stunning Caribbean restaurant, Islet View that had views to die for. We are already saving up & planning to go back.....we haven't seen everything yet & we feel like Tiko is a old friend. It was pure Paradise.

Calibishie is an extraordinarily beautiful place (on a gorgeous island), where every view seems more striking than the next. The view from these apartments, however, is especially jaw-dropping. The islands off the coast are framed perfectly and, whatever the weather or light, it's spectacular just to sit on the veranda and take in the spot. Location is ideal, even if you don't rent a car. It maximizes the view and it's easy to get down to the village (or elsewhere) by foot and minibus, once you know the drill, but all you will hear at night is the sound of waves and peepers. Very tranquil and private. The apartments are simple, but crisp, clean, and charming. The kitchen/living area has French doors to the spacious veranda; the natural light is wonderful and there's a consistent sea breeze to keep things cool even on the brightest days. Kitchen is equipped with all the kitchen basics, and although there are some great places to eat nearby, it makes sense to load up at the market (Roseau or Portsmouth) for provisions (coffee, milk, eggs, fruit...) There are only two apartments (upstairs and down), and Trevor is an attentive and helpful host--gives you the lay of the land and makes you feel at home in Calibishie. Overall, a fantastic discovery in a very special place!

Trevor is a great host. We stayed in the bottom apartment (GREAT VIEW!) and enjoyed our time there immensely! We rented a car and could get into "town" under 5 minutes, walk to POZ restaurant, walk down to the beach in 10 minutes.

The unit was clean and nice with a great view of the ocean. Trevor, the owner, lives next door and was helpful and friendly. This was an apartment type unit with a single bedroom, living room area with a sleeper, kitchen and patio. Nothing fancy but overall spacious and clean. Trevor built some of the furniture out of driftwood and it’s quite good. The backyard view overlooking the green tropical forest, mountains in the distance and the ocean is fantastic. There is no air conditioner in the unit, but we stayed in December and were completely comfortable with just the fans provided. Location is convenient to restaurants, either walking distance or a short drive. But don’t expect anything touristy, Calibishie is the nearest town and it’s really small.

We stayed at Bay View for 3 nights and it felt like a home from home. The view was terrific and the gardens were beautifully looked after. The apartment was simple but spacious with a large terrace and all the amenities you could need. A nice touch were there a few essentials like olive oil, seasonings and a little rice left, so if you wanted to cook you had the bare essentials. The bed was so pretty...built from driftwood that Trevor, the owner who lives next door, had collected from the beaches and had had built by friends. The shower was enormous..I'm sure you could have fitted a whole football team in there together at the same time...although we didn't try!! Only downside was that it was quite a hike downhill to the village, although there was a restaurant, Poz's, 100m away which was very good except for the burgers which were a disappointment (sorry Poz) but the oxtail was amazing!

We spent the last three days of our Dominica grand tour at Bayview. An excellent decision, as it turned out. Our upstairs apartment was a bright, modern, and very functional space, yet with enough quirky and personal touches to give it a home-like feel. There is furniture made from local driftwood, and the kitchen is so well-equipped that preparing breakfast almost as much of a pleasure as having our morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the waves rolling into Hodges bay. Trevor is the kind of host who achieves the difficult balance between being personable and helpful on the one hand and completely respectful of guests' privacy on the other. A winning combination.

You cannot go wrong with the upstairs apartment my wife and I stayed in. Immaculate views of Hodges Bay, simple layout, and very clean. The apartments are located conveniently on the main road, but outside of town so as not to be busy or loud and are great for getting literally anywhere on Dominica. Everything you need is in the apartment, and if not just ask the owner who along with his kids are some of the friendliest and most accommodating people you could ask for. I should also add that the room rates are reasonable and your wallet will thank you.
