The owners were extremely helpful! They booked the shuttles, the Monteverde tours and everything for us. The place is very quaint, the accommodation is average but you get what you pay for. The owner made breakfast herself, which makes it a great cultural experience.

This hostel is warm, friendly and above all clean.Very cheap but lovely rooms, some dorms with regular beds. The staff Jocelyn,Ronny etc are awesome and happy to chat and help out in any way. There is a communal kitchen and lounge and a really homely feel. It´s also very close to Santa Elena town. The free breakfast is great, fresh mixed fruit to die for,... The effort shown by the owner is of no contest. She was able to accommodate us whenever we needed help or assistance. Despite the fact breakfast is not served until 7am, she woke up early to cook us breakfast since we needed to catch a 7:15am bus to Manual Antonio. As some places may put little or no effort into... We stayed in the Sleepers in La Fortuna, and used their Jeep-Boat-Jeep service to reach the hostel in Monteverde, which was cheap and went very smoothly. We arrived, were welcomed by our hostess (and some of her charming children) and shown to our room. We got room #10, with a private bathroom. We walked in and were stunned by how... More

The hostel is conveniently located, 5 minutes walking from the supermarket and bus station. The owners are friendly and can help book tours and activities in the area. Breakfast is included (fruits, cereals, omelet and one toast). Wifi is a bit capricious but when it works it is speedy. Bathrooms are clean with hot water.

This hostel is a 3-5 minute walk from most restaurants and the supermarket in Santa Elena, and it provides a nice view over a small valley from the back porch. Our room was clean and well maintained, and the bathroom had new tile, a hot water shower, but no hot water in the sink. The hostess spoke english, provided a... More

I stayed at private room #7 for $15 a night. It is good for the price, however, I had to sleep with a face mask to avoid the smell of mold in the room. The room #7 I stayed in was stuffy, it had a lot of privacy, but the room just smells aweful. I had to open the window... More

The service was excellent. I started out on my trip back to San Jose. About 14 kilometers down the steep and unpaved road I got stuck. We returned to Sleepers Hostel, or rather, Ronny, the owner, drove down no less then three times... first to pick me up and my family as well, later to get a mechanic down to... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one quick night to do some ziplining and hiking, not intended to be anything romantic, and were actually assuming we wouldn't have much privacy. We ended up having a private room and bathroom with a great view of the valley. The only complaint we had was that the bed was uncomfortable, shaped like... More

I stayed in the four-bed dorm. My bed was comfortable and the place was kept very clean. Hot water and good water pressure in the showers was also great. The highlight was the help that the family who owns the place offered me in recommending the best tours and booking them for me. They went out of their way to... More
