This is tehe place go in Tuscany, not for a night but a week. The Castle is magical, the pool wonderful and the restaurant, to die for. This is all topped off by being one of the best wineries in Chiati Classic region. This winery dating back to the 1200`s has been completely renewed and renovated - the loving care... More

the property is pretty nice but the rooms are below average and the front desk manager is pretty snarky unless you urge it out of her to be nicer. we were almost the only ones there but they gave us a room that was not very nice and no view and this property has some lovely views and the room... Castello is absolutely one of the most beautiful places in the world. That being said, our experience as guests was less than great. From the moment we checked in, which was an intrusion on the hostess's schedule, too busy to show us the grounds and room, did we really need help with our luggage(room was 30 steps straight up), to... This is the picture perfect idea of a medieval 12th century italian castle that works! All the rooms are beautifully appointed, large with antique furniture with clean bathrooms and wardrobes. Our massive room overlooked the olive trees for miles and our daughter's room was in the tower, so cool! The breakfasts are served in the dining area, a self serve... More

I work for one of Castello Di Gabbiano's sister companies and have always wanted to go to thise site but never had the chance. Finally i got to stay there and even the posters ans postcards don't do the property justice. From the castles porch you basically have 360 degreee views of the country side. I come from a wine... My husband and I decided to "retreat" to the countryside for 2 nights in between Florence and Rome to give our feet much needed rest. Castello di Gabbiano was the perfect place to do this. Traveling during off season allowed us to enjoy the castle, the winery and the views in total peace and quiet. The moment you enter the... More

We had a great time at Castello Gabbiano. We wanted a countryside experience to balance out our stays in the big Italian cities and the Chianti region was perfect. Gabbiano was built in the 12th century and looks the part...our room was in one of the four turrets and was fantastic. Service was top notch and breakfast was included and... More

We recently spent 5 days in this beautiful castle for a wedding and there are not enough words to express the warmth and beauty of the place. The staff is very attentive, the breakfast top-notch and complete--still missing the freshly baked, steaming lemon cakes, fig jam, blood red orange juice...I can go on and on... The staff really went over... More

The Castello di Gabbiano is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Right from the moment when you turn up the drive to approach the castle you are struck by the beauty and sheer majesty of the place. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful and went out of their way to help coordinate our visit... More

Service counts and it is a pity that the hospitality director does not consider it as counting for very much. If there is a problem it always seems to be your fault and not the hotels! As an example the Mouse on the computer did not work, it was clearly an old one and needed a complete clean. When I... More
