stayed here end of march in snow and bitterly cold weather .room very nice (we had an upgrade )clean with loverly view towards the highland cattle and rutland water.dinner and breakfast were great.hotel and room both warm and cosy.only downside was that it was very icy walking across the courtyard with no salt or snow clearance.otherwise a loverly stay

Jane was great. She helped organise a fabulous diamond wedding celebration at the hotel ... We ate very well, slept well after a convivial drink or two in the bar. Nothing was too much trouble ... During the weekend my wife and I were guests at a wedding held at Barnsdale Lodge. It was a most excellent day. The wedding ceremony was held in the special banqueting suite followed by a Pimms reception in the hotel courtyard. The whole service of drinks and canapés was excellent. The rooms are very nice and spacious with good bathrooms. Everything about the hotel apart form the evening dining is good. The meals are very small and the cuts of meat are not what you expect so watch what you order.

Very good location to explore all around Rutland Water. Rooms well decorated and extremely comfortable. We had a corner double looking out on the Highland cattle and kitchen garden with Rutland Water just visible on the horizon and it was light, warm and generally a pleasure to inhabit.
