My son & I stayed in the apartment for 3 days - very comfortable and well located. Penny was great, helping us out immediately with a couple of minor issues on day 1. As usual in NZ everyone - local or tourist was very friendly and helpful.

A cosy, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, Pinedale would definately be my first choice of accomodation when next returning to Methven. Feeling more like a hotel than a hostel, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The rooms, bathrooms and living area were always clean and tidy, fellow travellers were sociable and welcoming and features such as the 'love pit' really made... More

I stayed at Pinedale with a friend and we both feel in love with the place and didn't want to leave. It is a small hostel with only a few bedrooms but has a huge communal space with two open fires, a long dining table, book exchange, pool table and the infamous love pit! While we were staying at Pinedale... More

Great fire place, good kitchen. The internet is pricey but that seems to be the case all over NZ.

Thanks so much for your review, we're glad you enjoyed your stay. As for the internet, we will investigate again to see if there is a cheaper and better third party internet provider for our guests. At the moment our current provider is the best option especially as they are also willing to provide us with those first 15 minutes... More

Very chilled hostel, open fires so cosy. Lots of more 'mature' people, not kids boozing all night and getting excited about a 'flouro' party. Great place to base a ski trip, or just to relax. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment and one of our party stayed in the lodge so we can comment on both parts of Pinedale. The service was great, Tim and Penny are very helpful and accommodating and helped us out with booking an extra night when we needed to. The lodge beds are very comfortable and warm and the... More

Room was very small, compared to other places I stayed at in NZ for similar price, like no room to put your bags on the floor, TV reception wasn't very good at all. Decor was very old. We got the private double, the only thing was that the room was accessed from outside the house, not inside, where all the... More

Thanks so much for your feedback on our Budget Private Double Room. We stayed in the apartment for 2 nights. The apartment was cozy and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. As the apartment is situated separately from the lodge, it offers plenty of privacy as well. It comes with 2 bedrooms and a small garden. Perfect for small families in my opinion. Tim and Penny (the hosts) were warm, friendly and... More

The Pinedale apartment has a really homely feel to it and provides all the little extras that make holidaying so much easier. The kitchen is decked out with all you need to cook for yourself and apartment is quite spacious. We had an awesome week there - and couldn't fault anything.
