Our group of seven hungry men descended on The Blue Pub after a day of golf. We were not disappointed The food was excellent, the portions generous and the service very good. We ordered a variety of dishes and everybody was happy.

Stayed here with 3 friends during Mt Hutt skiing season in a double bunk room. Really good value. Room was quite small, but beds were really comfy and new towels and soap were supplied daily. Hostel accommodation above a pub. Showers very clean and with oodles of hot water, you even get a towel with your room. Slightly pokey kitchen/TV room and room 3 could do with a lick of paint - all standard hostel stuff. Insanely noisy on a Friday night but hey, why are you in your room when the band is downstairs?... We went to Methven with an Australian friend to show him Mount Hutt, We had lunch on the verandah at the Blue Pub, my husband and I had a lovely platter and friend had a very big steak ! great ! sat in the sun for the afternoon, it was just awesome ! good service and food.
