This was our second stay at the Hotel de l'Orient. When my wife and I stayed here for a week in 2008 we were satisfied and impressed in every way. Our recent stay was also quite pleasant, but we've decided that the quality of the experience in this small hotel depends heavily on how busy it is, which room you... More

We stayed there January 6, 2012-January 9, 2012 soon after Cyclone Thane had hit. Our room was Chadranagore, which was set up for 5 of us (3 children and two adults). It was a Neemrana property and we have stayed at their other properties as well. It's the typical non-hotel hotel as they put it and was very reasonably priced.... More

the hotel has a old world charm, the rooms are airy and well appointed, it is suggested that a autowash system be incorporated as integral to the w.c the food at the restuarant serves a western client and has no variety. it should be multicusine with special emphasis on sea-food. it is slightly over priced. the breakfast should give a... This is a lovely hotel located in the historic French quarter. The staff are friendly, but work incredibly long hours (the same staff worked all three meal services) which can explain mistakes or errors. During our 30 days in India we found this to be a common experience for most staff. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food... More

This hotel had great reviews here and in my guide book but when my mum and I went to stay for Christmas 2011 we were so disappointed we made plans to get a refund and leave almost immediately. The rooms we were given were in an annex a few doors down from the hotel. To be fair to them, we... More

We stayed 4 nights at the Hotel de l'Orient for Christmas 2011, this is a beautiful charming hotel, old 18th century house very well renovated, very well located in the "white" part of the town, rooms are all different, with old antique furniture and large bathroom, overlooking the patio. Food is excellent and service very good. We were there on... More

Stayed for one night in this beatifull hotel. We had the Calicut room which was very nice. Hot running water was available after putting on the boiler 10 minutes before you wanted to take a shower. Location is perfect in the French part of town. You can walk easily towards the beach and wander around town. We had dinner in... More

Really such a tastefully designed little romantic find. French colonial flavor, cozy antique chic rooms. Also has a cute courtyard brasserie with nice big marble tabes and wrought iron high backed chairs. Lovely... More

Just took a look at the rooms And hung out for lunch. Great food and coffee and that is not easy to did in india. Suites are gorgeous. I wish I had booked this place--it's cheaper than the anandha inn where I'm staying and so much nicer. It's not five star, but it's very charming and a great value. More
