A small hotel set in a building with a special charm and uniqueness, La Casa de Los Fúcares offers an oasis of rest and privacy to the guests. Built in the fifteenth century. it has been faithfully restored to maintain the feel of staying in a private residence. The hotel has five rooms decorated with charm and affection, where the luxury of space and the attention to detail in the decoration take you back in time. Every detail has been sensitively designed to give comfort and a relaxing sensation to the traveller.
We had an awesome stay at this hotel. The host is extremely passionate about his hotel and its history. We got a great upgrade because of our honeymoon. Champagne included. Highly recommend this hotel when visiting this area.

Very nice hotel! Excellent staff. It is family owned and operated which gives it a nice touch. The hotel has an antique feeling to it that is very charming. The breakfast was very basic but just what we needed and it was delicious.

We came to Almaden to visit the Mercury Mine and chose a hotel close to it. I am so glad we did. This hotel is charming as are the owners. Our room was huge with a private sitting room attached, we had a very comfortable and huge 4 poster bed. Breakfast was very nice, served in a beautiful room. If I could give more stars I would and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended.

We spent two nights at this hotel with our two children and I can only say that it is an unique and really charming place. Our old son was disappointed by the fact that there was no TV on the room (there is wifi available anyway), but at the end of our stay he was delighted by the time he spent playing in the patios, gazing stars... He would definitively repeat :-) José Antonio, the owner, is really passionate about this place and would make anything he can to make you feel at home. Breakfast is also well beyond standards. In summary, a very special and unique place where you can feel like in the old days, but with the modern comfort.

Stayed there 2 nights to visit the mercury mines( five minutes walk from hotel;UNESCO site worth the visit !) Very large room and large bathroom. All rooms are different as this is an old convent (with numerous stair) transformed into a nice hotel. Internet worked well, extra large comfortable bed, no TV in room (one in library). A very nice breakfast( hot and cold) is served when requested ( 8h30 one morning,9h the other in our case). Garage parking can be arranged. The owner (Jose) speaks reasonably good English and is extremely welcoming; we enjoyed chamomile in his kitchen one evening. Strongly recommend and would stay again if travelling that way.

We stayed here only one night but it was a great experience. Jose was very welcoming and gave us a tour of his hotel which has been lovingly restored with great attention to detail. He introduced us to his charming daughter who suggested a great place to eat within walking distance from the hotel. We parked our car in a public place fairly adjacent to the hotel but this was no problem and we felt it was very safe. The home cooked breakfast was delicious and in such a wonderful dining room.We can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel during a driving tour of Spain. We chose the hotel largely based on the positive reviews here and were not disappointed. The house is spectacular and in itself could be the premier tourist attraction in the region. The hotel only has five rooms so is very quiet with a charming intimacy. The rooms are large, beautifully restored and comfortable whilst the public areas are also stunning. Read the reviews below for more info on this..... For me however, as a person who's primary concern is his stomach, the breakfast was the premier attraction....there was homemade yoghurt, homemade jams, three homemade cakes (the peach cake in particular was amazing), plus of course locally baked bread, tomatoes and olive oil, fresh orange juice and French press coffee...all of which was excellent. Finally, the hosts are lovely, me and my girlfriend speak almost no Spanish but they went out of there way to accommodate us even getting their daughter, who speaks good English, to speak with us and assist with the breakfast service. All in all an exceptional place and a stay that will long live in the memory.…

Jose and Susana went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome in their gorgeous hotel/home. My room was very spacious, with wonderful attention to detail. The breakfast was delicious, including home-baked sweetbreads and french-pressed coffee, something I hadn't seen yet in my 6 weeks of traveling through Spain, France and Portugal. Jose told me that he and Susana opened the hotel in hopes of creating an environment in which their guests arrived as strangers, but left as friends. They have succeeded marvelously. I highly recommend the Hotel Condes Fucares.

A very special and magnificent place to stay for everyone looking for rest and peace as well as for the historical remains of the famous German family the “Fugger” (Los Fucares) who have run the local mines for about 120 years in the 15th and 16th century in exchange for financing the election of Carlos V as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (Heilige Römische Reich Deutscher Nation). The Fugger had lived in this house (Los Condes Fucares) during their stay in Spain. The place has been beautifully restored with a deep love for details and coziness. Susanna & Jose are very gentle and welcoming people. We agree with everything the previous writers have been pointed out about this fine little hotel boutique. From our whole trip in Spain, we have gained our finest and happiest souvenirs in Almadén.…
