Excellent stay all around. Food at dinner and breakfast was delicious, service impeccable. I needed an iron and it was delivered in 1 minute. Rooms a bit quirky with unnecessary features such as a glass view of the shower and bath from the bedroom. But food and service overrode this. Also it is beautiful.

We arrived on the morning around 830am and met with a staff at front desk which was totally uninterested in us We had forgotten to confirm an Etna tour but nobody cared. It was our mistake fair enough but service would require to at least try to find a solution We called directly ourselves the tour company and luckily enough two people had cancelled so we could make it. We went for a great tour from 10 am to 5pm Upon our return we discovered the room It was, no offense for disabled people, a specially designed room for wheelchair. This means that the bathroom was with a much higher toilet than classical, a much lower sink and a special shower … Needless to say that with higher than normal toilet, you cannot properly do what you have to do on a normal toilet… We asked to change room and received a charming NO ! We asked if they could upgrade us given the situation and we were told this is normal as Italian authority ask for one disabled room So no toilet tonight and back pain for shaving and teeth cleaning and shrunk shower zone … Will never come back Spread the word

Dear Ceb, excursion information were sent to your assistance the 6th of September, no confirmation was received to confirm it. As you mentioned, it was not our mistake, and differently from what was said, when you arrived at the hotel our Front Desk agent has made what needed to book escursion for the same day, exactely 1 hour and 30 min after you've showed up at the hotel. Regarding the room, you have booked a Classic room category, and as explained, some of them are accessible room. We proposed an upgrade to a Deluxe category at a confidential rate, even though the cost would have been much higher. We also showed you the room and you've denied the proposal. From our side, as everyone can read, the efficiency of our staff is always highlighted, and even this time we gave to you all the support which was not appreciated. The hotel has a beautiful spa with wet and dry steam, massages, a large indoor bath with jets to massage sore muscles and a large outdoor pool. Rooms are luxurious but somewhat strange. We had a large and very luxurious room but the lighting was inadequate. Our shower had two heads and a waterfall coming out of the wall. It was almost large enough to double as a squash court, while our friends had a shower that might have been on a medium size sailboat--no doubt the result of converting a lovely old private villa into a hotel. Food was quite good, however service was spotty and a bit confused.

Dear John, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at Villa Neri Resort & SPA. The size of the shower depends on the room category. We have rooms that stand out for having showers for 2 people with chromotherap, others instead have both a shower and a bathtub. It all depends on the selected category. We hope to see you again soon for another stay at our hotel. Kind Regards, Valentina Schillaci - Guest Relations Executive

I came to Villa Neri with my dad and we had an amazing time! Once we arrived they immediately upgraded both of our rooms which started the trip off on a spatial note. We had dinner at the restaurant twice and were blown away by the flavors and attention to detail. The hotel has gorgeous grounds and on a clear morning you have a spectacular view of Etna. The only downside we’re the mattresses which weren't that comfortable, the doors to both of our rooms didn’t close easily so we would have to slam them shut and lastly the wifi was almost non existent. I understand that we were on vacation to be away from our phones but with a hotel at that stature I would at least hope to use the wifi to check in with family back home. That aside I would 100% go back to Villa Neri! The staff was incredibly kind and generous with their time.

This hotel is really beautiful. The drive up to the hotel is like driving up to a country house in the Lake District. The hotel grounds are immaculate and very pretty. Etna can be seen from the hotel as well as views of the surrounding hills and countryside. On entry to the hotel it feels very high end, the decor is stunning and the staff on arrival were welcoming and friendly. We definitely got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble during our stay. We were informed that use of the spa throughout our stay was complimentary which was a nice touch. Upon arrival we were asked if we wanted to make a reservation in the restaurant to which we agreed, however after seeing what was on offer we quickly changed our minds. There are two tasting menus available 120-150 euro per person. None of the food listed appealed to us and there was no way we were prepared to pay that price every night. Luckily we had hired a car which was much needed whilst staying at villa Neri. Sadly there is very little available in the surrounding area so in order to find nice places to eat you have to be prepared to travel. Normally this would not be an issue however it is a long way down the mountain every evening around hair pin bends and no street lighting!!! It was such a shame that the hotel didn’t offer a half board option or even a menu offering steaks or fish. We did actually eat in the restaurant on the last night as we just couldn’t face driving yet again. There was an option to choose dishes off the tasting menu separately. I chose a spaghetti dish which I was disappointed in as it was very expensive and very small. On the positive side the wine was lovely and the service amazing. The breakfast at the hotel was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had. There was nothing that wasn’t available, everything you could possibly want was on offer and to a very high standard! The juice was so good as was the carrot cake!!! Our room was very spacious, the bed very comfortable and the cleanliness was of a very high standard. We had a couple of treatments in the spa during our stay, the price was reasonable for a spa but the facial I had was a little disappointing. All in all we enjoyed staying at Villa Nerri however we would not return due to the remote location and more importantly the lack of food options in the restaurant in the evenings. We would have loved to have eaten in the restaurant every night if only there had been some more affordable options. Thank you to all staff at the hotel who were all very welcoming and professional. If absolute peace, tranquility and luxury is what you are after then this could be the place for you but car hire is a must!!

Dear Emma, We thank you for sharing your experience with other travelers and for appreciating the design of our hotel. Our gourmet restaurant offers cuisine with traditional Sicilian dishes, from the tasting menus it is possible to order à la carte, we always offer the option in agreement with the dining room Manager and Chef to agree on dishes not on the menu. We are aware, being a resort, that we are not in the center of the city, Linguaglossa is a few kilometers away and we offer a shuttle bus for all guests who want to spend time outside the hotel, also dining in different restaurants. We thank you for paying attention to our breakfast service and all our staff thanks you for choosing Villa Neri Resort & SPA. Kind Regards, Valentina Schillaci - Guest Relations Executive

This is an honest opinion of Villa Neri that future clients should know. Pros The hotel is fantastic and is modern and welcoming. The Staff are extremely polite especially Salvo (outside bar) He is a credit to the hotel and nothing was a bother for him. Pool area fab Breakfast fab Spa Fab The rooms are very well-decorated Location to Etna Fab The hotel grounds are amazing and kept to a very high standard. Cons Room 205 had no air condition controls the panel was there but no buttons, when we were shown the room we were told that it would be fixed, but when I asked at the reception later on I was told that they managed the air con from there and the options were even off or on the (really?)picture attached. There is no GYM at the resort There is No Alternative to eating at the hotel in the evening apart from the Michelin-star onsite restaurant unless you want very limited room service. All this place is Great, it could improve on the above and for that reason, we will not be returning as we feel the lack of facilities for this 5/star resort is limited and also the location means you will need to have transport to eat out in the evening unless you wish to eat the same menu at the restaurant every night.

Dear bossey, Thank you for reviewing your experience and providing good feedback regarding the staff, departments and services of the hotel. Our air conditioning system is centralized and monitored from reception, the hotel does not have a gym, and it is not offered as a service, as you can also see on our website, Our restaurant does not have a Michelin star, but is recommended by the guide, and offers a gourmet service with various tasting menus created by our Chef; alternatively, our dining room staff can, in agreement with the Chef, propose dishes that are not on the menu to satisfy our guests if they request it. We also offer a free shuttle bus to the town of Linguaglossa, 5 minutes away by car, where there are several excellent quality restaurants with typical Sicilian cuisine. We thank you for being our guest and we hope to see you again in the future. Valentina Schillaci - Guest Relations Executive Hotel Villa Neri Resort & SPA

Great hotel to base ourselves for a visit to the region. Great service. Food excellent. Nice pool and gardens, with views of Etna. Close to town with good restaurants. Tour to Mt Etna piked us up from hotel. Short drive to Taormina for a day visit. They also booked us a great wine tasting and lunch at a local winery. Rooms well appointed. Quiet surroundings. Overall a perfect experience, thanks.

Beautiful location and due to how rural it is it was pretty peaceful. The hotel is beautiful and very nicely finished. Our room (classic) had its own courtyard with chairs, table and sunbed. Perfect to look out for little (harmless) lizards darting about! The food in the restaurant is absolutely divine and service was fantastic (thanks Salvatore and Ettore). Breakfast is buffet with pastries etc with fresh coffee made to order (grazie mille Elisa) with cereal and "English Breakfast" hot food also available. Of course the view of Etna and surrounding area is pretty unbeatable but it is a rural location with only the spa (spa pool, steam room and treatments available) and outdoor pool (the coldest pool I've ever swum in!), so I do not particularly recommend it to those with young children as there is nothing really to occupy them. Car rental is advisable but please be prepared for the Sicilian way of driving - scooters will filter on both sides of you and mountain roads are very bendy! Would definitely visit again

Beautiful small resort was absolutely gorgeous but the real treat was the staff! Salvatore, Julia, Dina and others made the trip extra special. The rooms were lovely and we had a balcony overlooking the pool, which itself was a little chilly but overall, relaxing and attractive! The spa was very reasonably priced and Dina was so great. HIGHLY recommend the Turkish bath experience that is complementary. Quiet and a great place to get away from stress. Also, looked like a cute vineyard although we didn’t tour it. The views of Mt Etna are absolutely beautiful. The only recommendation or “to be noted” item is that they do not have a casual dinner option. It’s only fine dining gourmet so the idea of grabbing a simple pizza, pasta, risotto is out in property. You have to drive a relatively difficult road and battle some very tight parking to get any casual options for dinner (their lunch by the pool was casual and nice).

Our stay at Villa Neri hotel was marred by an incident with one of their masseuses that left us appalled and deeply dissatisfied. The level of rudeness, defensiveness, and disrespect displayed by the masseuse was simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, it became apparent that the masseuse was purposefully hurting me during the massage after I requested slightly more pressure. Instead of addressing my request professionally, she chose to retaliate by causing me unnecessary discomfort and pain. When we tried to escalate the situation and request to speak with management, we were informed that there was no immediate management available. We were left waiting for a couple of hours for the manager to finally arrive, but by that point, it was too little too late. The lack of timely intervention and the delay in addressing our concerns further emphasized the hotel's poor guest relations. To add insult to injury, not only did we have to leave the hotel due to their appalling guest relations, but they also refused to refund us for the night we didn't stay. This lack of compensation for the unpleasant experience and the retaliatory behavior of the masseuse only compounded our disappointment. We were left with no choice but to find another hotel, where we could enjoy a more welcoming and respectful environment. The negative impact of this incident on our overall experience cannot be overstated. Considering the disrespectful behavior of the masseuse, the retaliatory actions taken during the massage, the delay in management response, and the lack of refund, we strongly advise potential guests to consider alternative accommodations. Our hope is that this review serves as a cautionary tale and prompts the hotel management to address these issues promptly, ensuring a more pleasant stay for future guests.

Dear 301nassk, as already explained privately, we apologized for the inconvenience that occurred in the wellness area. None of our staff members choose to make our guests feel uncomfortable, or as mentioned by you intentionally choose to retaliate. These are not attitudes that we allow in our hotel. Should there be any misunderstandings, we always try to resolve them in the best possible way. it was your choice to leave the hotel even though there was no problem with the room or other departments. The massage was not charged for and dinner would have been offered if you had stayed. Best Regards, Valentina Schillaci - Guest Relations Executive
