I booked this place because I could not get any cheaper options in Genting as the rooms in most hotels are fully booked. I went with my parents for one night during end of Aug 2017. I booked in one of the booking sites, which I initially thought was a hotel (did not mention any 'apartment' in the booking sites). When we arrived in the area, we found out that it is a room within an old apartment near the First World, so I was shocked when I saw the place. The unit is located in the second floor, which had rooms within the unit. The room we booked isn't that bad, they had the bare essentials (water, towel, toiletries). It mentions that we have aircon, but because it was cold in Genting, I couldn't really tell. My only concern with the room that we got was the drainage. It was clogged up that there's a mini-flood in the shower every time someone takes a shower. Another issue that I had with the place was that it's not noise-proof. THere was a family that rented several rooms in the unit and the kids were running around making so much noise at night, to the point that I had to tell them to keep quiet. The apartment itself is old, the elevator a bit weird (sometimes stops abruptly, totally freaking me out), but the unit is at the 2nd floor so you can use the stairs. Note that the place is located near the First World, so you have to take the cable car from Awana Skyway, if you have very big luggage, they will not allow you in the cable car, you have to rent a luggage deposit box. Once you reach SkyAvenue, go down to Level 1 (Casual Dining Floor) and head towards the side of the Arena of the Stars. Exit the building, walk a few meters to the fork on the road. On your left is a hotel, on your right is Old Town and across is the Fire station. The apartment is just beside the Fire Station, you'll see it as it has an open parking in front. We initially hired a taxi going there because the place is packed with tourists, not realizing the place is just walking distance. Over all, I think the rooms are ok, if you run out of options in Genting, it's the cheapest option in Genting, obviously. They have another place in Gohtong Jaya, but you have to take transportation to Awana Skyway before you can head to SkyAvenue. Make sure you bring earplugs just in case. And check the shower drainage first, to make sure it works fine. The Kayangan apartment can look scary, but if you're just there to sleep, I think it should be ok. They have a 24hr convenience store, plus Old Town is just walking distance, so you have cheap food options.…
