If you want to meet a mr grumpy in a hotel, book into this one. Never had such a cold reception as we had from a manager. Also, we could not gain entry @ 22.20hrs tho' it was made clear that door did not close until 22.30. Eventually he appeared and reluctantly admitted us - not a word was spoken.... More

I have been travelling to France 3-4 times per year for the past 20 years and have nothing but praise for the welcome that I have been afforded as an Irish person with very good French. This August, my wife and I decided to stay in Pujols to do some cycling and read all the previous reviews on Trip Advisor... More

This had to be the least welcoming reception I've had in more than 40 years of staying in hotels. After ringing a bell reception at 4pm a gentleman (the proprietor) finally appeared looking very surly. No 'hello' or 'did you have a good trip' just ......'nom'. We asked whether it was possible to book for dinner at the restaurant which... More

This hotel is in a lovely location, with a great view and adequate rooms. If you stayed here without incident then I am sure you would feel your stay to have been fine. However problems arise over the breakfast and, more importantly to us, the management’s attitude to any queries. Breakfast is 11 euro per person and is nothing more... More

Nice views over countryside and village in a quiet environment.. The room was certainly dated, perhaps circa 1970s. Could do with more attention to cleaning and there was a lack of personal touch to the communal places especially, no flower pots, ash trays unemptied etc: Breakfasts were copious with a good spread to cater for all choices.

I'm amazed at some of the reviews suggesting that this hotel leaves anything to be desired. It's run by a really lovely couple who are prepared to put themselves out to help. It's extremely clean, efficiently run, very quiet and - for an expensive part of France - very good value. We enjoyed it so much that we have now... More

I SPENT THE MONTH OF MARCH 2007 IN THIS CHARMING,CONFORTABLE HOTEL The hotel was highly recommended by my "Agent immobilier" while I was looking for property in the area. The welcome was warm, the room confortably elegant with "a view to kill for" and what I enjoyed as well was the "petit dejeuner" always tasty (with those French country-specialties!!) and... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a wedding that was taking place in Pujols, and I must say that the hotel management seems not to know what customer service is. We phoned to say that we would be arriving around 10 pm (the reception closes at 10:30...usually one of the benefits of staying at a hotel as... More

Before any things I am anxious to apologize for my bad English and all the mistakes that I have makes.....I answer you, I respect your opinion but some of your assertions are based, it seems to me, on an evident incomprehension. We are a " small very comfortable hotel ", three stars and relays of the silence, but we are... More

We stayed at Hotel Chenes for two nights at 98 for 2 per night incl breakfast (free parking on premises) The hotel is situated perfectly looking out on rolling hills and the charming village of Pujols (5 minutes from the seemingly dull Villeneuve Sur Lot) We very much enjoyed our stay. The room was pleasantly decorated, maybe not quite to... More

Yes the hotel has stunning views, but I feel that the owners have got complacent that this alone will sell the hotel. The welcome on our arrival was far from freindly. We were travelling all round France and so were dressed comfortably in jeans. When I enquired about taking our evening meal in the restaurant next door it was pointed... More
