This is one of those hard to find treasures in France. Its not modern but its very clean and quaint. Its far away from the tourist haunts, its quiet and unspoilt but Its close to places to visit and (I believe) its a great spot for hiking and long walks in unspoilt areas. What ever you do, make sure your... More

We stayed at this inn for four days in June and were very pleased with our choice. Our accommodations included two bedrooms (one of which we never used), a shower room, a toilet room, and a huge walk-in closet. There were four sinks in all! The décor was pleasantly austere – butter yellow washed walls, beautiful old stone sinks, no... More

I really loved this hotel and hope to return quickly. It is situated in a tiny village with a stunning view from rooms and restaurant. Very helpful ownership. Clean rooms. Great food - the dinner meny has four courses and costs 25 Euros, local wine included. I highly recommend this place.

This is a nice hotel in a small village with an interest story with the salt! You have to know ir, so take a question! Not far from the hotel there is a forest with salty water. The rooms are comfortable and charmig, The family who is the order of the hotel, sometimes not so kind, but they are working... More

After a long day of driving Cathar country, we were blessed to stay at this fantastic hotel. It is gloriously situated and so peaceful. On arrival we sat on the hotel terrace just soaking in the beatiful surroundings with a pre-dinner drink--redefining relaxing. We had a triple room, comprised of two large rooms, good bathroom and two terraces. We took... More

Tucked away in the heart of Cathar Country this was the perfect place for a short break. We had four days with no TV, no internet, no newspapers and came home thoroughly refreshed. Our room was in a converted barn just across the tiny street from reception - rough white painted walls and simple but spotless furnishings. We had the... More

Sougraigne has a population of 90, yet sustains a marvelous B&B with an outstanding dinner service. The owners are extremely nice. When my bike broke down 10k away, they came to pick me up, without complaint. The room was quaint, and larger than most we've had in France (though that still means small). The dinner prepared was superb, and they... More

Auberge Ecluse au Soleile is set in Sougraine, a tiny village in the Aude in the Cathar hills. It is a in a delightful setting and the auberge itself is charming, run by a very pleasant couple. Be warned, however, that Sougraine consists only of a small number of residential houses and that there is nothing there other than the... More

A rambling Logis in an interesting old hillside village with simple but very adequate accommodation, polite hosts, and lots to do for outdoor types. Set four course dinners are very flavoursome, carefully cooked and presented and served with good local wines. Remarkable value for money. We loved it, and the surrounding area.
