I have returned to this island several times as it is a true paradise on the great barrier reef. Away from the big tourist hubs further north, this place is how you expect it the reef to be. Comfortable, down to earth living on a tiny island whilst enjoying the spectacular reef just off shore. Sitting on the beach enjoying... More

Lady Elliot is an experience of a lifetime. Everything is just perfect, a very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, diving with Mantas and the birdlife. You feel like we borrowed this from nature and are guest. Would love to come back

Visited 3 times - love love love the place. Wonderful snorkelling, relaxed environment. If you want to have a great family holiday which isn't over priced, with activities for children and adults, and wonderful wildlife - this is the place. Staff are always friendly, food is nothing special but very filling and good value. Can't wait to go back.

I spent a weekend getaway on Lady Elliot while living in the Gold Coast and loved ever minute of my stay on the island! Its quiet and secluded, and provides a feeling like you are the only ones in the island. There are plenty of things to do and hotel staff were very helpful in coodinating activities - glass bottom... I've been here twice in 3 years from Brisbane and have no issue giving it 5 stars purely based on the location and atmosphere, right on the reef, only a short drive from Brisbane and such a natural quiet place to be. We have only stayed in the tents which probably helps with our expectations as we treat it like... More

This was the undoubted highlight of our recent trip to Queensland from the UK. The only access to the island is by small aeroplane which itself adds to the charm of the island. The price is not cheap but it is certainly great value. It included breakfast and evening meal - both served buffet style and excellent. It was possibly... More

My partner and I visited Lady Elliot Island in November 2012 and we had a fantastic time. The rooms are basic but so what? Look where you are! The whole place could do with a little face lift but seriously your not there for the resort. You are there for the reef. This was my first real experience with snorkeling... More

Absolutely worth a visit. We were 'forced' to spend 3 days (minimum stay, at least during Christmas season) and I wouldn't recommend staying shorter. The wildlife, especially under water is absolutely amazing. Snorkeling is great, diving even better. Manta rays, bull ray, loads of turtles (huge!), sharks (harmless) plus loads of 'normal' fish (wrasses, lion fish, unicorn,...). We were also... More

We spent a lovely 5 days on LEI. We stayed in a reef unit, which was right in front of the water. There were earplugs in the room (for the birds) but we didn't find them noisy at all. The weather was a bit rough on our first day but ventured out into the lagoon anyway to find lots of... More

Just returned from 5 days on LEI and wishing to go back already! We stayed in a garden unit, with a view of the lagoon - the bedroom and ensuite were basic but clean and comfortable. Not that we spent much time on our room - the snorkelling was fantastic! Every time we went out in the water, we saw... More
