Stayed two nights. Rooms are simple, plain, clean and comfortable and the food is really excellent. Treble glazing on the rooms on the front means no traffic noise, but still and excellent view of the Basilca.

This was our second stay at the maison of Didier and Sandy. Really hit the spot both times. We were there for the Australian ANZAC Day dawn service at Villers B and caught the bus from nearby. OK the hotel is not the Ritz, but it sure is value and excellent food. Maximum points from us.
This is a review of the restaurant, rather than the accommodation. We were recommended this spot by the chap at the nearby museum and it proved to be one of the best recommendations I have had for a long time. The food was fresh, very tasty, and the service extremely friendly. The wine was excellent and the price very reasonable....

We stayed here for 3 nights so we could attend the dawn ANZAC service at Villers Bretonneux.
What a good choice.
Extra clean room, spacious and looking out over the Basilica.
The hard working young owners Didier and Sandy do a great job as do the other staff and Didier's food from the Restaurant is superb and good value.

We stayed at a B&B which I reviewed previously (Chambres d'hotes L'Amartinierre- Somme in Courcelles au Bois) and were directed to the restaurant of the Hôtel de la Basilique for the evening meal by our hostess.
I will therefore only comment on the restaurant not the hotel.
She told us that the restaurant was good value for money and I...

This review is a little overdue. I stayed here in the fall of 2010 while touring the Somme battlefields. I had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend staying here. The rooms are nice and quiet, My room overlooked the street but there was no noise fro the street at night. The meals were incredible. The owners obviously take great...

The young owner of this hotel goes out of his way to be helpful. We had booked a room with breakfast through booking.com but he upgraded us free of charge to a much larger room facing the basilique. It had recently been refurbished in a clean modern way and the bathrom was huge, doubling as a dressing room. He came...

We have just returned from a trip to the Somme and stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel de la Basilique. We were on a family visit to the battlefields of the area and none of us could fault the hotel - in fact we loved it.
The position is ideal - right in the centre of the lovely little...

My party of four visit the Somme each year and have previously stayed at another small hotel in Albert but in 2012 we shall definitely go to the Hotel de la Basilique. We had an outstanding meal there on the first night and thought that we would try another restaurant that we have used on the second night. However, on...
