We stayed in the Edelweiss room, and had an amazing view of the surrounding area. The hostess is very friendly and helps you with what you need. Although it is a bit outside of the centre, it is made up for by the great view from the garden :-)

This was a well maintained guesthouse on the outskirts of Appenzell. There was parking available in front of their home.
