We visited Montsegur on our cultural trip of France. If you have any interest in Cathar history, you have to visit Montsegur. The entire village is a heritage site and of course there is the famous Cathar castle, perched on the hill behind the village. This was one of the last Cathar strongholds, during the Albigensian Crusades.
