Charming spotless hotel with extremely pleasant and helpful staff. This is an old Tibetan building with nice views, good breakfast and free afternoon tea and cakes. This is definitely the place to stay in Shargi-La.

We agree with all the other positive reviews. Great friendly helpful staff, Large rooms with balconies and stunning views of The Monastery which is a short walk away. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The location is fantastic, the rooms are not extremely big but comfortable even equipped with a wood burning stove, beds are excellent, the bathroom is a treat, a bit more of furniture wood be appreciable, if you have altitude sickness they can supply you with oxygen tanks, the staff is so nice and Patrick the manager is great, he takes... This hotel is in a perfect setting with peace and scenery. The rooms are Tibetan in style. Food and staff are top rate and they have the best coffee in China! (Yunnan coffee beans) The hotel overlooks the monastry and the only sound was the bells around the yaks necks.Fantastic sunrise too.
