Check in, simple enough, we were given an a4 sheet of paper with the restaurant opening times on, it differs day to day and week to week. The room, and the disappointment starts not 5* everything in the room was very well worn, from the waste paper bin to the bashed about walls. The general cleanliness of the room was... More

I have worked within the hotel/serviced apartment industry for almost 10 years and have traveled to many countries (please see my travel map - oh wait trip advisor have removed this facility) so can give a reliable account of a hotel. The reviews of this hotel seem to be good with a few common problems repeated in many peoples reviews... More

We only spent one night here (thankfully!) as our chosen hotel - Hotel Costa Calero was full for the first night of our holiday. We only booked a standard room (land/mountain facing) and were delighted and very surprised to get a seaview room. Unlike the couple checking in at the same time as us who had booked a standard room... More

5 star building & facilities but not 5 star service or dining, as only buffet available unless you pay extra, but still OK. Good, quiet location & plenty of walks if you want. The Marina is a nice walk, 15/20 minutes away with shops, cafes, markets etc. The very energetic can run & bike up the volcanic hills ( you... More

This is a lovely hotel, the entrance and reception/entertainment area is very good, the acoustics are perfect for the evenings when the pianist is playing. The bedroom was fine but the air conditioning was poor and the fridge did not get cold at all. People should be aware that it really isn't suitable for anyone with walking difficulties as there... Staff really friendly and they cant do enough for you. This is our second stay and we have never had a problem with getting pool loungers.... More

Stayed here late February /March 2012 for seven nights. Upgraded to a sea view room prior to travelling............worth it!!! Would recommend the Hesperia if you want to get away from it all. It is a little out from Puerto del Carmen so instead we sampled the local restaurants in Puerto Calero. As a result, a far more relaxing holiday was... More
