Hotel Rodrigo De Vivar May 19 Don't judge a book by it's cover. Although the exterior of the country house seemed a bit tired, we were pleasantly surprised with the room itself. The reviews on TripAdvisor aligned with our expectation and experience. The location was peaceful and very quiet. Dispite being so close to the airport, we could not hear... More

This is an Agristurismo site and there are farm animals and it is really for people with cars. A taxi will bring you to the property, but unless you can walk a good distance you will have to call a taxi whenever you want to go somewhere. It is located close to the Ostia Antica Scavi, but the walk to... More

One of the best hotels we stayed in during our two week travels throughout Italy was Rodrigo de Vivar. Our stay at Rodrigo de Vivar started with Maurizio greeting us at the country house outside the town center. Knowing we didn't have a car, he was gracious enough to give us an upgrade and reserve a room in town so... More

After months of reading reviews that ranged from terrible to great, we took a chance and booked this resort for it's uniqueness. Thank goodness it was only for one night. It was a total disappointment. As stated in many reviews, it was almost impossible to find, and we too, had to hunt for the manager for over an hour to... More

We stayed at Rodrigo De Vivar and after a little confusion got settled into our rooms. Ostia Antica was my favorite part of all of our visit to Rome..... The people were so sincere and friendly. The place, although old and not modern conveniences, was just perfect. I loved it and would return in a heartbeat to this lovely setting.

Hard to find! Do not arrive after eight, the office will be closed. There was no manager the next day. The people that help us spoke limited English. The room advertised as castle is a room with two floors, very small and in bad condition. No air condition, no robes, no Internet, poor breakfast. We arrived on Sunday to see... More

This review is for the country villa and not Rodrigo de Viva's place in the town. I didn't have much luck getting a confirmation email from them by direct email contact, so booked the room through booking.com (this cost me an extra 15 euros). The country villa is made up of a few rooms in the lower storey of a... More

Found this unique accommodation on Hotels.com and drove up without a reservation. Was a bit hard to find down an unpaved road but worth the effort. The chef turned innkeeper when we inquired about a room. After booking us in for a lower than advertised rate of 89 euro, he invited us to join for dinner and sat us at... More

After an exhaustive search for hotels with amenities, we settled on Rodrigo De Vivar. I would stay here again. We were here for only one night, but staff was very helpful in giving advice and directions. Short walk to the train station. Breakfast was offered to us in our room, however, our flight was very early in the morning, so... More

Previously we stayed at the Rodrigo De Vivar in the medieval village (not at the farmhouse) on October 16, 2008 and wrote up a review of that stay on November 12, 2008. (You might want to check that review.) Based on that generally-favorable experience, we chose to stay there again on October 20, 2011 after the end of a cruise... More
