We stayed at the Insight hotel when Tsunami Alarm was given (April 11, 2012). The management and staff were the first to leave. No coordinated evacuation plan. Guests left behind uninformed in their hotel rooms etc...Simply inacceptable! Thanks to the help of the guard who left last, we got to a safe place.

No Wi-Fi today but tomorrow. Helpful staff. Cuisine, so-so (buffet-style) and smoking allowed in the dining room. A/C & fan in the self-contained, not so clean rooms; mosquito net over beds; two free bottles of water every day in each room. Honestly, this was the worst of the many hotels I stayed in in Sri Lanka. I had ti search for staff in mid-afternoon. Really enjoyed our stay at Insight Resort. The hotel and its grounds are lovely - over looking the beach, and the stilt fisherman, great rooms, great pool, nice little area to play cricket! We've spent 10 days in this hotel in January, 2012. It was one of the few hotels that had available rooms at high season on Christmas / New Year holidays. Friendly helpful staff, great service , and the food was great loved it... Beach no words to explain was so beautiful , nice standard rooms, the pictures in the review may be old pictures rooms and the hotel look super than the picture shows .. Definitely going there again

the staff are really amazing the service was out standing and the food was the best sri lankan food i have had, the view was absolutly stunning and would deff come back to stay here. the hotel looks so much better then in the picture
