Loved this B&B The owners were very welcoming and extremely helpful with ideas and information on places to visit. Stayed in the hobbit room which was warm and comfotable with fantastic views from the window. The surrounding area is ideal for those who like walking , want a bit of peace and quiet or just something a little different. We... More

If you are not into ECO life/ways and think you do your bit with recycle bins at home, then give this B & B a visit to have your eyes opened and be educated. The hosts are very welcoming and knowledgeable on their subject. The Welsh breakfast will set you up for the day and whilst not partaking of the... More

The hosts John and Ceilia were very welcoming; also the hotel is a vital asset to the surrounding area. The message of sustainability and the eco ethos is very easily adhered to and I left with the intention of continuing the lifestyle. The "Hobbit" room was incredible; those who judge a book by its cover would be wise to learn... More

The host John was wonderfully helpful to his guests - picking them up at the train station if they come without cars. He gave us a private tour of the slate mine just outside the guest house. He's on a mission to run the guest house as green as he possibly can. The guest house is in the middle of... More

Having got rather wet with my two dogs staying in my little camper van in the Beddgelert Forest I almost returned home to Berkshire. But as I love Porthmadog and the surrounding area I consulted the Tourist Information Office in that town and they made a booking for four nights for me and dogs at Bryn Elltyd Ty Llety (Guest... We had 2 nights at Brynn Elltyd, en route to Heathrow, at the end of a 4 week holiday in France and Scotland, . It was a lovely place to spend our last couple of nights. We arrived early evening and were welcomed with a delicious homemade cake & tea by Ceilia & John. Even though we hadn't previously arranged... More

This place is fantastic, it's not a typical B&B but really takes its character from the area in a way that distinguishes it from anywhere I have stayed. The owners, Celia and John have gone to great lengths to provide comfortable surroundings to really take advantage of the natural beauty of the Welsh mountains and mould it into the fabric... More

Only spent 1 night here following 2 fraught nights at a poor hotel, the difference was huge. Located in a spectacular setting overlooking a lake and mountains this is the place to unwind in a beautifull setting. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and we could not have wished for more, will return for a longer stay. We planned as a last minute long weekend. Adventurous driving and wonderful views and scenery. Our only regret is we didn't have time to stay longer! John was a fabulous host and font of information providing recommendations and specifics on what we to do in the area. Would have loved to spend longer in his company learning and adventuring. Cecilia... More

We chose Bryn Elltyd at short notice while we were touring North Wales with our two children (aged 7 and 11). We stayed three nights and we had a wonderful time. When we arrived late evening we were given the warmest of welcomes. Owners Celia and John laid out tea and biscuits (hot chocolate for the kids) which is just... More
