The Auberge is set in a small village, 30mins from St Jean de Luz. A peaceful spot, with delightful views of the surrounding countryside. Well sign posted from the motorway. This small hotel (more a restaurant with rooms) is a very effective blend of traditional and contemporary architecture, reflecting the two old and new "halves" of the building. Our suite... More

Have stayed here several times and look forward to going back again next year. An extremely relaxing place to stay, the rooms are lovely - stylishly but simply decorated (I think it's Flamant), beds very comfortable, showers great. Really quiet and peaceful. Rooms now have hairdryers and tellys if you need them. The restaurant is utterly lovely and Cedric is... More

Tranquil setting. The Auberge itself is comfortable, elegant yet charming, unpretentious. Great bathroom! The best 'continental' breakfast I've ever had (and I'm a chef). Oh -- and a Michelin-starred restaurant for dinner right downstairs...truly delicious locavore cuisine beautifully presented and with very nice service. All this at a fair price too.

We stayed there 3 nights and very much enjoyed this wonderful hotel. Everything is tastefully decorated and the restaurant is simply great. Enjoy seating in front of the open kitchen and watch the cooks prepare your meal. We would go back.

We spent 4 nights here based on the chef's reputation and on some of the other reviews on TripAdvisor. It is a lovely renovated inn with about eight rooms, located down a winding lane, smack in the middle of rolling countryside and is quite centrally located for visiting the gorgeous villages and seaside towns of Pays Basque. Auberge Basque, which... More

Wonderful hotel, environmentally conscious, beautiful grouds, delicious food. My only complaint is that the staff--including its owner-- provides impeccable serviice though somewhat cold and distant.

My wife, our 19 month old son and I spent a single night at the Auberge Basque, it has been by far the best night of our 10-days trip around Pays Basque. The restaurant is excellent, very imaginative with very helpful staff. The wine is not too pricey for this type of restaurant. Rooms are cosy and spacious with environmentaly... More

This is a very intimate, adult oriented auberge in the middle of Pays Basque. The main building has been renovated with a contemporary feel with clean lines and decor. Some of the rooms have balconys and are, as noted by a previous reviewer, shared with adjacent rooms with small trees as dividers. Comfortable outdoor chairs on the balcony allow you... More

Place is really nicely renovated. We stayed in main building, had a contemporay room with balcon and enjoyed the view. If you plan to stay here for a romantic getaway it is good to know the blacon is "shared" with other rooms ( small plants separate your area but you get cosy with your neighbours). You can also easily hear... More
