This is a beautifully-located apartment in a picturesque part of the old town, called Le Cisterne because it is actually built over old Roman water cisternes which can be toured. There are two rooms available in the historic building which are separated by a fully-equipped kitchen, available for use by guests. Everything was very clean and in working order. There... More

We loved Amelia. It is a tranquil Umbrian town set in rolling hills. The cobblestone streets are steep in parts, but the cars are patient and never toot you! Silvia is exceptionally helpful and informative. She picked us up from the station, and cheerfully gave of her time and energy to help us. The b and b is well located,... More

I spent a weekend in Amelia attending a conference. Although I booked late but Silvia, the owner was most kind to accommodate so I had a place to stay. I am grateful for that. It felt like being a guest in someone's house, not the impersonal hotel experience. The house is old, charming, the interior spaces are intimate but private,... More

I spent a long weekend in Amelia during late June, attending a conference, and stayed at Silvia's B and B. She was fantastic, giving useful advice about where to eat etc. Silivia's English is great and she is most happy to assist with onward travel arrangements. The rooms are spacious and having wifi was an absolute bonus. The pet tortoises... More

Silvia and Gian Luca will make you feel at home, but still leave you your privacy. Their rooms are comfortable and quirky - a mile away from standard hotel rooms, but with everything that you need for a comfortable and relaxed stay. A real bonus was the wireless internet connection - for once, in Italy, it was actually problem-free! Amelia... More

I was in Amelia for a conference in July 2009. Booking and paying via PayPal had been easy, and Silvia had arranged for her husband Gianluca to pick me up from the train station in Orta. British Airways had managed to lose my suitcase between Heathrow and Roma, and Silvia was fantastic - arranging for me to access the internet... More

From the other side of the world to our little courtyard, we spent a very good time together and created a little comunity of strengers in Amelia. Hope to see... More
