Because we had workmen in our house, and our dog likes to assist, we decided to have a few days out of the way. This area is only 40 mins drive from home. The holiday cottages ( the opportunity for another revue) we stayed in were only a 5minutes drive from the Manifold Inn. We called in for a drink...

Pillows lumpy - had a sleepless first night. So we bought new pillows - bliss! Duvet flat and unyielding - kept slipping off the bed. Room 4 needs drawer storage - one shallow drawer in dressing table not sufficient for more than a night. Rather cramped room but nicely decorated and with thick curtains to keep out the morning light....

6 couples booked for 3 for 5 nights and 3 couples booked for 3 nights. We were one of the 5 nighters, in the suite. Very comfortable and welcoming, after driving around the local Staffordshire Moors and Derbyshire Dales in hail and rain showers for most of our visit in April.
The team at the Manifiold looked after us very...

We stayed for three nights (for the price of two direct offer) mid week in April the room was excellent ( larger suite for £99 ) great bed and sofa chairs so I could go out cycling during the day(hail sleet and rain) to know I would return to warmth and luxury in the evening. Food was also very good...

We booked a two-night mid-week stay in a standard double room online. Check-in was easy and reception staff friendly. After checking in and leaving our baggage in the room, we had a very good lunch in the pub.
The location is lovely (and wonderfully free from mobile coverage) and the inn is very charming. Standard room (room 1 in building...

Stayed four nights (Sunday to Thursday) and luckily our stay coincided with the absolutely marvellous weather at the end of March.
Our room was in an annexe (room 3) ok but a bit on the small side and difficulties with the bathroom door. More anon.
Inn is well located with great walks locally (through Wolfsdale and on into Hartington through...

This is a decent place, well out the way and serves a decent meal. The food is good and the choice is varied, the fresh veg too hot to eat so it's from a Micro-wave. However charging £15.00 for a Chilean Rose is a bit excessive. The other reason we were not happy about was we arrived at about 7:45...

Just returned from staying in the area. We'd never visited the area before so tried the local on our first night. It was so good, we didn't consider anywhere else the next night! Mother and daughter holidaying alone and we have sometimes experienced a bit of "anti-feeling" in rural locals but everyone here was welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food...

Just got back from staying 3 nights here and it was absolutely perfect. Spent all day walking and just sat by the log fire every night playing cards, drinking local beer and eating hearty pub grub. A few things they did not have on the menu as the season was not really in full swing so limiting for me as...
