We stayed for one night and were not disappointed. The lodge is like stepping back in time. Rustic enough but all mod cons. Loved the four poster bed. Ria made us feel so welcome. She was very knowledgeable about areas we should visit. Food was great, certainly not "Pub Food", as stated in a previous review. Everything was prepared and... More

The lodge is a wonderful heritage building, but the prices were too high for the amenities provided as rooms were small. Why was the parking such an issue? Lovely lodge but cold atmosphere - what was wrong? Too many negative signs and rules and regulations - was this a camp for kids or adults. The beer was cold. The dinner... More

We stayed one night on our way from Jasper to Tweedsmuir. Really worthwhile stay, as we visited Falwell Canyon sheep reserve (saw sheep) and went down to the river to see the hoo doos. The Lodge is lovingly managed by the Dutch owners, who have restored this very historical spot. Plan to spend some time reading the books around the... More

My brother and I spent two nights at Chilcotin Lodge last week, and loved it. We were birding in the Becher's Prairie area, and found this lodge convenient and comfortable. Up at dawn, we did not have to drive anywhere - a walk from the lodge was quite pleasant and productive. The proprietor, Ria kept the hummingbird feeders fresh, and... More

We chose to camp at Chilcotin Lodge based, in part, on TripAdvisor reviews. Even so, we were not prepared for how very much we liked it. The camping is set quite near the lodge but with views across the Chilcotin grasslands for miles and miles. The hook-ups for our small trailer were more than adequate and the restrooms and showers... In fact our intention was to stay just for one night somewhere between Jasper and the Pacific coast. That's how we found the Chilcotin Lodge. But frankly, one night is too short. If you enjoy meeting friendly people and learning more about the local history, then this lodge is just right. This historic lodge is very tastefully decorated and furnished.... More

We were totally amazed by the quality of this lodge: Our bedroom, the bathrooms, the common rooms and the dining room are all FIRST CLASS. The meals, the ambience and the attentiveness provided by the hosts were beyond any expectations we had. The local knowledge our hosts provided allowed 3 excellent days of exploring and sightseeing. Not to be missed... More

I make it back to Riske Creek every year or two for the past decade or so. This hotel keeps getting better and better. We eat breakfast and dinner here each day and the meals are hugely looked forward to!! Great sleeps and lots of exercise hiking nearby are recipes for a fantastic trip. Looking forward to our next trip.

We stayed for 2 nights in the lodge. It was very traditional and the fire in the lounge was lovely. Perfect to sit in front of and relax after a day out exploring. However the bedrooms only have electric heaters which aren't that efficient and as they were only just being used at the start of winter smelt of burning... More

We planned to visit Chilcotin Lodge for a while and now that we did we were not disapointed. The Lodge is very nice and comfortable, as well as the surounding country side, which we explored on Ria's advise. We saw some wild birds, as well as a black bear and deers. It was just wonderful to see the Farwell Canyon... More
