My wife and I have stayed in some of the highest rated hotels and guest houses in the US, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, and the UK. I can state without any doubt that none are better than Hanora's cottage. I can think of 2 places (one in South Africa and one in Argentina) where the breakfast is... More

The setting is beautiful with lovely walks in the nearby mountains and forest. The food is top class, full marks to Mary, Eoin, Judith and Ina. They cater for all dietary requirements, as in my case I am wheat yeast and dairy free (a little advance notice is appreciated). It was great value with packed lunches included for each day.... More

Hanora's cottage is a gem in West Waterford. With a very warm welcome, we were shown to our very comfortable accommodation, complete with huge jacuzzi bath and power shower. We wandered in the pretty environs of the house until dinner time. There is a comfortable small bar area for relaxing pre-dinner drinks. The dinner has plenty of choice and the... More

A hard working couple with a very busy professional and family life took a recent well earned rest at Hanora's Cottage to celebrate a significant anniversary. We had a fabulous break. Lots of options available close by whether we were in the mood for chilling out or spending a bit of energy. We are both hillwalkers and did end up... More

Wonderful place. It a unique sort of B&B. Luxury accommodation targeted at walkers. It is perfectly located for walking in the area. Breakfast is amazing, really amazing. Such a variety of fruit, bread, cheeses. I would go back just for that alone. After a day's walking the jacuzzi was heaven. It has the feel of staying in somebody's really comfortable,... More

My husband and myself stayed in Hanoras Cottage for 2 nights. It was a beautiful experience in a most magical area of the Nire Valley. The accomodation was very comfortable with a lovely view of the river and gardens. The food was excellent and the breakfast was an experience in itself. Mary, Eoin, Judith and Ina were so welcoming and... More

The wife and I stayed 4 nights at Hanora's Cottage the 3rd week in October, our 7th or 8th visit there over the last few years. As usual, everything was outstanding. The breakfasts were legendary, including numerous fruits, 6 different types of home made bread, smoked salmon, farmhouse cheeses from local sources, scrumptious porridge, and, as if that weren't enough,... Had a wonderful few days at Hanora's cottage with our daughter and her partner. The weather was lovely which was a bonus. The welcome of tea and muffins a lovely touch. The food was fabulous and the breakfast was probably the best we have had even at five star accommodation. We would certainly recommend for a quiet getaway with lovely... More

We stayed at the cottage a few weeksago and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had anywhere in the world. On arrival we received a hugely warm welcome from Eoin who was lovely and showed us our room and then served us beautiful coffee and home made muffins. That was the first thing I remember on... More

My husband and I have just come back from a 3 day break in Hanora's cottage. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome, greeted by Eoin with Tea and scones. Food was of a very high quality, breakfast exceptionally good. Room had a beautiful view over the river and gardens. Very friendly staff and first class service. Would... More
