Having ridden, via motorcycle, over the Bonaigua Pass in dense fog, driving snow and rain arriving at the Parador de Arties was very welcome. The rooms are not huge but very clean comfortable and the bathrooms are large and have everything you require. Wifi is available in public areas and at a pinch in the rooms, t tended to drop... More

We visited during the off season, so the surrounding area was pretty dead. However the view out the window of our room was a breathtaking view of the Pyrenees. The hotel itself looks like an old mountain lodge, and it smells pretty smoky. They'll have a lot of work to do to get all those years of cigarette smoke out... More

What could I say? Perfect!!! Surprise after surprise, the staff is always trying to take place early to your wishes... The room was unbelievable, commodious, elegant, romantic, full equipped... The restaurant... just splendid! and the carte astonishing! For sure, you cant leave the hotel without taste any excellent fancy typical dish!!! Great Quality-Price value!!!

Stayed on night from 5. july 2010. We had one standard room in 2. floor and one juniorsuite. The suite was very warm and not worth the money. The standard room was moneyworth with large bathroom. No aircondition. We had dinner in the restaurant an it was quite good, but the service was below standard. The breakfast was good. The... More

We stayed as a couple in parador Arties between 25.5 to 27.5.2011 We had a good reccomendation about this parador but we were very much dissapointed!! The stuff was unfriendly and inefficient. The waiter in the breakfast room gave us a scrumbled egg swimming in a pool of olive oil.The card that opened the safe did"nt work twice. The room service... More

Gorgeous from the outside but you go into a time warp inside. Restaurant & bar service very slow & poor quality food. Wi-fi terrible, rooms far from great & some involve lugging bags up spiral staircases with no staff to help. Flashing red lights on all smoke alarms in the bedrooms keep you awake, very soft beds and walls are... More

I am not a great fan of pristine mountain areas being invaded by the skiing industry and so have mixed feeling about the Aran Valley. The good news about this Parador is that it lies in one of the smaller villages in the valley (unlike, say, Vielha), and despite the boom in new buildings, the atmosphere of the village is... More

We had an entirely comfortable, relaxing, and pleasant stay. The parador is low-key. Very spacious public areas. Moderately spacious guest rooms (double sinks in bathroom was welcome touch). Very well maintained. Adjoining rooms were occupied but we experienced no noise issues. Excellent base for springtime exploring of nearby Pyrenees area, and desk staff (despite somewhat limited English) provided very helpful... More

Very friendly nice ski hotel around 4 miles from the ski slopes of bacqueira. No coach so you do need a car. Friendly staff althoug few spoke english though. Heated outdoor swimming pool open during winter. Only negative point was the room who, although very comfortable, had paper tin walls ensuring we had a lot of sleepless nights.

This hotel is part of the excellent Parador network, owned by the Spanish government. The hotel is located in the small village of Arities, which is mostly used as a ski resort during the winter, but has beautiful natural views during the summer. It is in a valley smack in the middle of the Pyrenees Mountains, about 10 minutes east... More
