An experience of a lifetime. As remote as most people will ever be. The ride down the amazon river, seeing the parting of the waters, all to arrive at this village. No power, no hot water, just an authentic jungle experience. There's always the threat of snakes and spiders. Some people in our group had tarantulas in their rooms, and... More

The highlight of our holiday in Brazil. We knew there was virtually no electricity so took wind up torches. The cold water was not a problem, refreshing in the humidity. The lodges are basic but very comfortable with a super hammock on each veranda. We were well fed during our 4 days and each trip was all that was expected... More

If you want to spend a few days in the Amazon and dont mind basic accommodation this is a great place to stay.Accommodation is in traditional style wooden huts with thatched roofs. There is very limited electricity from batteries with candles supplied as back up. Bathrooms are ensuite but there is only cold water. Food is Included and is really... More

The Lodge is quite basic but as long as you know this before arriving it's fine. Rooms are basic, with no fan or air con, no electricity, cold showers (actually a good thing to cool down!) and a couple of low wattage battery powered lights. Candles are provided but it's very worth while taking a good torch. Bear in mind... More

The Amazon Village is a very relaxing place for a great jungle experience. The food is great, service very friendly, guides great and very experienced, great wildlife and beautiful mangrove landscapes.

I would echo the other reviews, in that the boat tours and jungle treks were great. Alex, our guide, was knowledgeable, witty and helpful. The village is almost exactly what we had expected, with the room basic but adequate (no creepy-crawlies managed to get in) and the buffet meals were pretty good. However, this is rain forest and doesn't it... More

Four girlfriends and I visited around Earth Day 2010 - what a trip! Piranha fishing, jungle treks, flooded forest boat tours, caiman, bullet ants, and spiders, oh my. The food was great, the tours were exciting, and the "rooms" were decent, and good enough to keep us dry and safe (well, with the exception of the venomous spider I found... More

It is necessary to leave all but 5kgs of your luggage in Manaus so make sure you don't forget the mosquito repellent ! It is a wonderful two hour boat trip from Manaus to get to the Amazon Village. We were greeted on arrival with glasses of Guava juice and supplied with our room key and a box of matches!... More

When we landed in Manaus, we were happy to be greeted by Rudolpho who timely picked us up at the airport. He accompanied us on the hour boat journey to the Amazon Village Lodge where we had a 3 night stay. Our Lodge had a thatched roof with a hammock hanging in the front porch. The accomodations were clean and... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Amazon Village Jungle Lodge for 3 days and 2 nights and we loved it! Our guide Rudolpho was fantastic and we were the only English speaking group there at the time so it was like we were on a private tour. The buffet meals were delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly and... More
