Our rooms were roomy, comfortable and spotlessly clean but above all had stunning views. The lodge was in an ideal location for exploring the island in our hire car. Hot water was a little temperamental and the fridge was rather noisy but there were good bright lights -good for reading in bed. We stopped 2 nights. Sunday night was very... More

This was a surprise trip for our 15th anniversary and what a great place! Easy to get to, the views are the best on the island. rooms are large and clean, the food is fantastic, we went fishing and took some snapper to Pete to cook for us and it would be the best i have had! Margerie and Pete... More

We did not stay at the lodge but attended a wedding there and ate at the restaurant several times. The food was very good and the hostess Marjorie could not have been more helpful, arranging car hire and flights for visitors who were not even guests at her lodge. Cannot speak of the accommodations but the rooms i saw were... More

Despite the lodge being 5 minutes drive, rather than 5 minutes (my mistake!) walk from the ferry, the water views and close proximity to the Stonewall Shopping "Complex" made this a great place to stay. Once you realise you are staying at a place with no reticulated water or power, you quickly get into the island groove. The unit's kitchen... More

We were trapped on the island longer than we had intended due to the weather closing in, and ended up here as reluctant guests. I agree that the decor is tired, but the location is fabulous, the hosts cannot do enough for their guests, and are pretty good cooks to boot, so our stay was a happy one and we... More

The owners/managers were most hospitable, much as the name of this establishment might confuse you. We rented a car from the airfield at Claris and it was only a short, but hair-raising journey to T&B’s. We’d driven on NZ roads before but this was ridiculous. The lodgings were clean and comfy, while the fare was mostly wholesome and hearty. It's... More

We stayed here for 4 nights over NY. Whilst this isn't 5 star, that is made up for by the genuine hospitality and Marg's warmth. Let's face it, this is an isolated island and luxury isn't the draw card. The place is 'basic NZ motel' style so don't expect too much in that respect and you'll be fine. The island... More

We had a waterfront unit, so had a great view over the bay. However, that was the best thing about our stay. The whole place was dated and tired. Windows were cracked or did not open properly. The washhand basin poured water onto the floor. We repeatedly had to ask for clean towels. We came down for breakfast at the... More

The hotel is in a good location and the front rooms will have good views, but we had the unfortunate experience of staying in one of the back rooms. For $195 a night we had a view of the clothes line, the smells of the kitchen and the noise of the generator to lull us to sleep. The room was... More
