If you need a place to stay in Lira, make sure you try to get a room at the Kanberra Hotel. It was a very well kept (smart) looking hotel that has some of the friendliest staff in Lira! Always there to greet you when you are either leaving in the morning or returning from your day's adventures, every there... More

Kanberra was one of the best hotels I've stayed in, period. The staff were the friendliest I've ever met and were always ready to help out, serve, or simply chit chat about your day and local culture. My room was nice and serviced well, and the laundry service was prompt. The complimentary breakfast was tasty, and if you requested a... More

You cannot ask for a better place to stay while in Lira! I did not know anyone who had stayed at this hotel personally so I went with guests’ comments on Trip Advisor and sure enough I was not disappointed. I was very pleased to find that the rooms and amenities were exactly the way they were specified on the... More

I stayed at the Kanberra for 10 nights, and was very satisfied. For the price, the hotel delivers great service and the staff there is incredibly helpful. The restaurant serves nice food, if you're not eager to travel around Lira. As other reviews have stated: the rooms are clean, have hot showers and consistent electricity thanks to their generator. I... More

It is worth every cent you pay for the room: clean, spacious and suitabel equipped. The staff acted professionally and very friendly. It is not far from the city center, the last kilometer on dirt road.In the darkness it is advised to use a car and not to walk into town. They offer resonable food the whole day. We will... More

We booked out almost the entire hotel for our group of 20 and we couldn't have been happier with our rooms, with the service, the staff, the food, EVERYTHING! Positives: -A group of 20 all fit perfectly into their clean and comfortable rooms, we had no problems with beds or space, the rooms were cleaned to perfection daily and there... More

I stayed in Kanberra Hotel twice and each time it was excellent. I have stayed in a lot of similarly-priced hotels in Uganda, and Kanberra is by far my favorite. Positives: -New, spacious and airy rooms. I originally stayed in the "executive" room (11) because the others were full and I was impressed by how clean and comfortable it was.... More

Compared to the Hotel Pan Afric, were we used to stay in Lira, Kanberra is definitely a better deal. Similar in price, but rooms are brand new and much more practical and comfortable than the neighbour. Bathrooms are spacious and the showers are hot, if there is electricity. They do have a generator that is turned on at night, but... More
