Peace and quiet in the beautiful Sardinian countryside with a village for shopping not too far away (Olio Speciosa 10 mns drive with 2 supermarkets).....and the most beautiful beaches within 10 or 15 minutes drive.....I recommend Costa Rei, Feraxi and Porto Guinco near Vilasimius is not to be missed...beautiful clear blue water and white sand and a walk up to the tower gives fantastic panoramic views. We slept very well here, espec..."ially after the generous servings of superb home cooking and local products such as the Cannonau red wine. Being up in the hills, away from the touristic areas, I Menhirs is also very peaceful. We enjoyed curling up on the chairs in the evening, listening to the sounds of nature. We hope to return soon. We look for tranquillity, good food, good resort (in general all inclusive) and high level, minimum 5 to luxury level. We hate beach games, invadent last-minute-game-to-get-a..."-drink-for-free and rude animators. We love to rest and relax after 11 months of hard work. Calm and relax is our vacation; we hate loudness. Due to the high crisis in Italy (the worst is yet to come) it was preferable to select a luxury level resort, to have quality. In August Italy is extremely expansive (3 x than Caribbean) and I want something worthy the money I spend. A lot of plus, some minus. First: Sardinia is nice, I visited it many times and stood at many locations (all the most famous). Caribbean sea is ANOTHER thing: real white sand, blue sea, is Caribbean.
