  "What a lovely place! we stayed for 3 nights and the room we had was lovely and the view fantastic overlooking the golf course. We had a room at the end of the corridor so it was nice and quiet. Only let down are the bathrooms which do not seem to have had an upgrade. Our shower looked very old an..."d leaked water all over the floor. The sink and taps were also in a poor condition. It just felt a bit dirty and cheap. The hotel has many areas that you can go and chill out in and externally you can sit out at the front over looking the golf course or wander through the grounds at the side and back. What can I say about the gym and swimming/sauna facilities - they are fantastic, you can clearly see where the refurbishment money has been spent. The breakfast was fantastic also, there was so much choice and the waiting staff were lovely. They were so polite and helpful. Overall a fantastic stay in a peaceful chilled out environment.   "We stayed for one night on our way further north to break up the journey. I do try and avoid big chains but because this was one of De Vere's deluxe flagships, and it ad be recently refurbished we booked in. Check-in at reception was courteous and friendly but our room was a little pokey and claus..."trophobic even though it looked on to the golf course - didn't bring my clubs but it's holding a Seniors Tour event so it must be half decent. Beds were only Queen (quite frankly I don't think you could it a King in the space!) and there was no air-con or room safe (surely this has to be standard). The Spa and gym though I think were outstanding and made up for the disappointment of the small room. excellent up to date gym (not the afterthought you get in most chains). one word of warning: the hotel was pretty much dominated by golfing weekenders and wedding groups on the Saturday evening we stayed. this certainly tested out the v poor soundproofing the room had (was woken up by a large...   "We booked two rooms for One night in May. One was a Spa package, the other a golf package. We arrived two hours early, but are rooms were ready and we were allowed to check-in. We had afternoon drinks and sandwiches in the Cocktail Bar. The sandwiches were a little pricey, but the excellent serv..."ice and surroundings made up for it. Evening meal consisted of pre-dinner drinks in the cocktail bar and then two courses from the set menu or £24 towards the a la carte menu in the Carrington Grill. There was a lot of choice on both menus and we had a delightful meal. Followed by after dinner drinks in the Cocktail Bar. The room, in the old Hall, was nice, but the bathroon needed some TLC. There was a wall mounted flatscreen TV, tea & coffee facilities, iron and ironing board - all you really needed. The bed was comfy and the towels were soft and fluffy.
