The dinner and breakfast staff went out of their way to cater to our picky appetites, always with a warm and genuine smile. A review should be fair by adding the negatives but these were very minor - a fiddly heating system that seemed to default to cold, a lack of vegetarian options on the main menu, and no delicious chocolate on the pillow once the beds had been turned down! Other reviewers have complained about the quality of the food, but of the eight meals we had between us, four were excellent, and four okay - but at the price perhaps that 50-50 split is still worthy of note.   "It was our first time at Ettington park Hotel, but I hope it won't be our last. It was a delight, and so relaxing. We visited with friends who had been before and recommended the hotel to us. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful and our room was just right. Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the fabulous ruined abbey in the grounds. We had supper in the oak room on our first evening and enjoyed it all. The pool area was clean and very enjoyable. It was a really relaxing time. The only down side was that the wi-fi isn't geared up, and my husband could not get a link on his mac, but that just meant he couldn't spend time working, so it was a bonus really! Though I think it might have been a problem if he was staying for business reasons. All together the stay was an exceptionally lovely one. Well done to all the staff! And ... " More >
