The only surprise was just how expensive things have become, 2 uncut 500g loaves £10!! We have family nearby and we last visited 6 years ago, but we still enjoyed it never the less, just cooked for ourselves most evenings. A car is essential and a little travelling is necessary to visit the various sights, but our fortnight was filled with a huge variation in weather conditions in May from -2 with 6cm snow, to 32 degrees in the valley, bliss!!   "Les Source Des Alpes was a nice place to visit. We only stayed one night on a train trip around Switzerland. The service was excellent. The room was spacious for Europe. We were greeted with fresh fruit and sparkling water upon arrival. Breakfast was included and was very good. The waiter offered to make us eggs in any way we wanted, so we had cheese omelettes, which were very tasty. The spa attached to hotel looked ok, but closed at 7 pm, so were were unable to use it. The town itself was picturesque. The bus trip from Leuk allowed for incredibly scenic views. Once we hit the town, we managed on foot quite easily, even with dragging our luggage around. We visited the Leukerbad Therme for a few hours, which was fun. I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of spas, but this was opportunity to participate in a bit of Swiss culture.
