I interviewed the receptionists, and I knew that this used to be a separate beach resort. Now, Mangodlong rock and Coco grove is under one management. Coco grove rooms were the cheapest but spacious and clean. It has 12 rooms and has a separate swimming pool from the main Mangodlong rock resort. The swimming pool in Coco grove is free for their guests. However, in Mangodlong rock resort, you need to pay if you want to use the pool. The beach front in Mangodlong is okay. What I don't like is that there are lots of seaweeds. Most especially in the morning when it's low tide. Sand isn't that fine as well but it's okay. Mangodlong Rock Resort is as pretty as the pictures, with a wonderful soft sand beach and picturesque headlands. I'd go again, specially after figuring out how to get a reservation and to get to the resort. M..."angodlong Rock Resort has no web site. You e-mail the management company, Camotes Resorts, in Cebu. They take a day or so to reply. All transactions are in cash. This presents a problem if you are overseas as they want a 50% deposit put in their Philippine bank account. This was waved but I never felt totally sure of our reservation until I arrived. The next challenge is to get to the Camotos islands and the Mangodlong Rock Resort. There is noting really simple and specific on the Internet.   "We recently spent 3 days/nights on Camotes and stayed here (pre-booked) for our first night. Booking was done via email and no deposit needed. Check-in was low key and smooth. Staff friendly, good service. We were originally booked to stay 3 nights but didn't realise it was cash only payment and w..."e didn't bring enough money with us for accommodation, meals, tours/attractions etc. We swapped to the resort next door which had credit card facilities. The staff were understanding and it was no hassle to change. We stayed in a beach-front family room which was upstairs close to the reception area. There were beach views from the doorway and balcony but not from the room. Room comprised 2 double beds and a single bed which was a good configuration for our family (meant our 2 children could have separate beds). Room was clean.
