  "This hotel is a beautiful old colonial building and one block away from the main square, so a great location , I only stayed here one night as part of a group tour with Oasis Overland. We had a nice room just off the lovely courtyard. I would stay there again."

The hotel is big for a boutique hotel and it seems like every time I leave or go to my room I discover another part of the hotel I did not know existed. Be sure to ask for a tour of the hotel and make sure they bring you in the basement, it is really cool. The hugh rooms are appointed with king size beds, doors that open up to a faux terrace, desk and seating area. The bathrooms are modern with really strong water pressure which is lacking in most places in latin america. Our room was large and had a gigantic, comfy king-sized bed with a beautiful iron-scroll headboard and high-quality, fresh bed linens. The big bathroom had a relaxing high pressure shower, plenty of hot water, fluffy large towels and an assortment of toiletries. There were two sets of double antique doors in our room that opened to a small balconette and an awesome view of a beautiful colonial church tower who's bells softly chimed every 15 minutes. I felt transported back in time in this lovely hotel. All of Santa Maria's rooms were located around small lovely courtyards.
