But with hindsight it was great - nice and quiet and nobody bothering you. Modern rooms, VERY comfortable matresses, best sleep in ages! Modern bathrooms with good showe..."rs. All very clean. Breakfast was a bit.. the same as everywhere in southern America - bread, butter, jam, tea. Good side, it was available at 4.30 am before you go up to Machu Pichu, also a packed lunch is offered for 15soles. We were very lucky, as the owner was so kind as to let us come back and rest after we came back down from Machu Pichu in a dorm, at no extra cost as we were so dead tired and our train was at 7pm - we had another hours sleep and we are very thankful for our little afternoon nap.   "Not bad for the location and price was reasonable. Arrived late at night on the train, and were met by hotel representative. He took us part way and said to keep going along the sidewalk just a short distance to hotel. Had to cross train tracks (not a problem) as we were on wrong side of sidewal..."k. receptionest was quite helpful and showed us to our room on the top floor. Elevator not working so had to carry bags. She opened the door and there was a bat flying around in the room. Receptionist shut door and immediately said she would get us another room, and found one on a lower floor, Room was clean and neat, and we faced the water side. The noise was quite loud but like other's have said, it is more of a white noise and we had no trouble falling asleep and slept through the night.   "We were here for one night for Machu Picchu and should have stayed an additional night to enjoy more of what this hotel has to offer. First and foremost, peace and quiet - 100 meters away from the bazaar which is Aguas Calientes. The hotel also has several guided walks in and around its gardens ..."which are worth exploring on their own. Meals are good (dinner was very nice, breakfast somewhat basic). No television, insufficient lighting in the rooms , unstable hot water are minuses but one can always "hang out" in the lobby area. And as we've seen throught this holiday ... 54MB wifi routers do not mean hi speed internet ... Check out is at 1100 but departing guests are welcome to use the faclities after checkout (i.e.. take a shower between the Machu Picchu hike and the afternoon trains).
