We opted to..." save a few $, and were in a lagoon unit which is shallow water , easier to walk to the beach then swim out.however .... lots of fish feeding ! I think that these over the water units are the best I saw throughout our trip. Loved our room for the privacy- However when they say an obstructed view of the sunset , haha move over 3 feet. There are so many angles to see the views from for us the savings were worth it. The decks are private and the rooms nice. Food: wahoo steamed in a banana leaf with shredded veggies and coconut milk . I like my food served hot and this was excellent, wonderful cut of fish with a mild , dense taste.Shrimp salad appetizer looked culinary perfect , tasted bland ... " More >

  "We have traveled to Huahine 4 times in the last 9 years. We have never had a bad experience with any of the establishments where we have stayed including the Maitai LaPita Village. It is the newest hotel on the island and by far the nicest. It has all the amenities including an infinity pool and a..." small but very nice beach facing southwest into the lagoon. We stayed for 6 nights and found the food to be more than adequate as well as the service. The staff are pleasant and well informed. Our bungalow was clean and very roomy. The Maitai is a short walk into town along the beach where one can find a bank, stores and a few culinary establishments. Car rentals are also easily arranged by the staff. Eurocar is just down the road from the hotel entrance. It is a quiet, peaceful place that has managed to capture the true culture of the island. " More >
