We like it because of its proximity to the Kruger and because of its special atmosphere created by the wooden walkways, the African bush that envelops it, the outdoors boma where the buffet dinn..."er is served and its deck overlooking the Sabie River and Kruger. The rooms have been revamped since our last visit. This time we stayed in a superior room, which was bright and fresh. The luxury rooms used to have heavy, dark curtains and I don't know whether these have been replaced during the revamp - I hope so! The staff has always been pleasant and accommodating. I needed a fridge for medication during our last visit and a bar fridge was delivered within minutes of me asking for it. We have used the gym - it is small, but has large canvas windows that can zip down and we have watched elephants in the river bed while cycling and running.   "Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a group on my first trip to Africa and have to say I loved it. You feel like your on safari the moment you arrive. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a fantastic shower, but you will spend very little time in your room as you can sit on the viewing deck a..."nd look for the animals from Kruger Park which is literally over the fence. We saw a male lion and 2 lioness's sunning themselves on the rock, a buffalo really close to the fence that separates the hotel from the park and unfortunately for me as I didn't see it but a leopard had been spotted. Vervet monkeys and impala roam the site so keep your room doors closed or else! Breakfast is served in the restaurant and buffet dinner under the stars in the outdoor boma really add to the atmosphere. Game drives can be arranged from here and it's so close that it takes less than 5 minutes to get to get to the gate of Kruger Park.
