Die Fonteine is just outside Oudsthoorn on the way to the Cango Caves which was perfect for us as we wanted to be in the countryside rather than the town itself but it's only a 5-10 drive anyway. I would however spend a happy hour or so on the well manicured lawns reading my book and having a sundowner. Anzue was a great host, very friendly and provided some great breakfasts.   "Cheap, peaceful, central and the best breakfast ever"
  "We arrived in Outdtshoorn with no accommodation booked and having being turned away by two or three other places we eventually spotted the Esterer sign. Our room was in a separate building from the main house/restaurant (next door!) and had obviously been purpose built as B&B accommodation. Althou..."gh there were no staff in the building we felt very safe thanks to security fence and locked gates. We were worried that the room might be noisy as it was on the main road - right opposite the museum - but thanks to a deep and very private terrace we heard no noise at all. When we arrived in the room there seemed to be a problem with the toilet but the owner arrived within minutes of us calling her and assured us it was just an issue with the solar geyser that deposited scale in the system which disappeared with the first flush!
