  "I have just spent three nights here and am glad I chose this place. It's on a farm so very peaceful and you can see their horses, sheep (and lambs) up close and the other animals. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable with a powerful shower. I didn't use the hot tub out the back, but it is the..."re. Breakfast is great, with cereals, bread, ham, cheese etc as well as waffles. I really can't fault this place, it was a delight to stay here and the owners very happy to give you good local information about extra things to do in the area as well as the tourist trail. I did a short hike today to visit a thermal hot spring river that flowed down the side of a mountain. Perfectly located for a stop when doing the Golden Circle or to or from Vik, Skaftafell etc. Selfoss a short drive away for plenty dinner choices and there's a bonus supermarket as well. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Thanks to their advice we also found the excell..."ent lobster restaurant in Stokkseyri (Fjorubordid, I think?) which had fab food. There is a little farm in the same grounds with a few sheep (they'd just had 5 new lambs that night - very cute!), ducks, a cat, a few horses - lovely for kids, and a nice hot tub for those who want to unwind after a long day trekking Iceland's sights. I'd happily recommend Lambastadir Guesthouse and will definitely stay here again on the next trip to Iceland. " More >
