  "A wonderful little retreat tucked away on the coast. We stayed in a gorgeous suite, where the back door opened onto a beautiful lawn, with the ocean beyond it. Large, private and quiet. The room was thoughtfully decorated and stocked, and the gorgeous bathroom had a bathtub big enough to swim in...." Guests of the hotel have free parking at the state beach a short drive (1/2 mile?) away, which was wonderful for splashing in the waves and kite flying. (It's an easy walk from the hotel unless you are carrying a child with lots of equipment!) A casual restaurant/bar on the property had a wonderful menu with the ability to sit a tables outside near a fire it. The spa was a hidden gem, where I had a wonderful treatment. Note: This is not a big resort with all the bells and whistles. It's more like staying at a gracious, wealthy, friend's lovely beach home.   "We stayed at Bodega Bay May 28-30th in Room 213. It was everything I hoped for. we fles into San Francisco and drove to Napa for 3 nights and then to Bodega Bay. We love the ocean so the chance to stay in Sonoma and at the coast was very appealing. When we arrived there was so much fog that you coul..."d not even see the bay but the view was still beautiful from Drake's Lounge. The food was great and the casual atmosphere and great service were appreciated. The strawberry rhubarb tart with ice cream for dessert was amazing. On the recommendation of the concierge we visited both Iron Horse and Balletto wineries and were not disappointed. If you like champagne be sure to go to Iron Horse. Our room gave amazing views and we awoke our first morning to the sounds of barking seals and a view of the bay as the fog had cleared. We did send a couple hours by the pool and saw a doe and 2 fawns, many beautiful birds. Doran Beach was a great walk. Coffee in the library each morning was lovely. I loved... " More >
