Went to check in to find out they upgraded our room to a cottage suite, which was sweet. Elegant hotel in ..."a "bougie" part of town amid nice homes in San Marino/Pasadena. Spectacular view from the hotel overlooking the San Gabriel valley. Large bathroom with nice amenities. We forgot toothbrushes and fortunately the had some in the "box".   "The Pasadena Hilton met most of my expectations of a Hilton but I was a little disappointed with the rooms and pool. The rooms while clean and serviced with in-room coffee and related amenities, did need a bit of an update. The furniture was a little old as was carpet. Otherwise no complaints in ter..."ms of cleanliness and comfort of bed (be forewarned pillows are very soft). The internal heating/cooling unit could be loud for some guests but if you're tired it won't matter. The hotel offered free internet for HHonors guests and had free computer workstations in the lobby. The pool was a bit walled in and hard to find at first - gym was excellent. The service was really top notch - everyone was friendly and helpful. Even our ride to the airport in the towncar (actually a great deal - cheaper than a cab and less hassle then the shuttles).   "I traveled to Los Angeles to visit family. This hotel, although not a five-star resort, was pleasant and comfortable and convenient. The hotel honored my request for a low-floor near the elevator and stairs. The bed was comfortable, with good linens, and the bathroom was clean. The hotel has a conve..."nience shop near the lobby, which carries a little of everything. The location is great, and if you don't mind walking, the mall is only a block away. Gelson's Market is accross the street; it's an upscale chain grocery, with a great eat-in or take-out deli and bakery. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. I decided to stay an extra night, and was told the hotel was full, but I was advised to keep dhcking back. When I did, they had some cancelations, so I was able to stay in my room.
