Resting on a king-sized bed adorned with breathable sheets (I can't stand the synthetic stuff) and a do..."wn comforter prepared us for an early start. My husband saw a quail right by the lodge! Though many families stayed this weekend, we hardly heard a peep from neighboring rooms or hallways. Parking was a breeze, though the layout for the different wings was initially confusing. I wish we'd dined onsite, as the menu (ranging from pub food to fresh fish) looked terrific. Having IFC was a bonus, too - after hiking, we were able to crash and watch the Arrested Development marathon. The balcony, refrigerator, and microwave served as great bonuses for an already-lovely room. All three made the place so convenient for relaxing and viewing nature at our leisure.   "This was our second stay here with our dog. The price was reasonable, and it was clean and comfortable. The location, just off the junction of I77 and I70, is excellent, and there are numerous gas stations, fast food places, and restaurants at the same exit. Our room was clean and had everythi..."ng we needed: fridge (but no freezer), coffeemaker, hairdryer. The beds were comfortable, the WiFi worked, and the TV had plenty of channels. If I had one complaint about the room it was that there were not enough electrical outlets. In this day and age one needs to be able to charge phones, camera batteries, etc. overnight. We finally realized that there was a lamp that had two outlets in the base. But even then, I had to unplug either the lamp or the TV in order to plug in the coffeemaker in the morning. And I never found an outlet in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it also was clean and well-stocked with towels. But there was only one bar of soap, so it had to be moved back and... " More >
