"Looking for a place near Crater Lake, I decided to stay at the Motel, which was reasonably priced. I wasn't expecting that much, but was glad to receive a warm welcome from the owners, who told me upon check-in about things to do around the area. I didn't even have to ask.
The room itself is just..." fine, neat and clean, with some nice touches that stand out when compared to chain motels I've stayed at. For example, extra-soft towels and linens, wooden floor in the bathroom and a convenient laptop AC outlet on the desk. The shower was perfect. There is also WiFi access in the room which is not to be taken for granted - many places in this region don't offer this option.

"We did an overnight at the prospect historic hotel. Rooms are small and charming, appointed with handmade quilts and soft linen. Very clean, and quiet. We were the only guests this night, so I can't speak to noise transmission. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Gracious service. We had breakf..."ast and were treated like royalty.

We have taken our meals at the Dinner House and there is only one "complaint" - the prime rib was so good I gained weight on this ski trip! (There was a lower calorie option of salmon, if I really wanted to watch my diet.)
I have usually stayed in the Hotel, where each room has a theme from the history of the area. The rooms themselves are relatively small, as one would expect from an historic building, but very comfortable. They have been moderniz...
