Check-in was pretty easy and they actually give you physical keys to your room. We were there both years in conjunction with Cigar-fest, spending two nigh..."ts each time. This year, our room was in the "slope suites" section which can be found by wandering and a couple elevator rides. There is a back lot and another entrance that makes this experience easier. Our room was a suite which had a wall that divided the 'livingroom' from the 'bedroom' which was very nice. It also had a fridge, stove, dishwasher, vacuum, and other amenities if you planned on staying for a while. The room was hot when we walked in, presumably from the full sun beating through the windows all day.   "When we first booked we were a bit nervous by some of the reviews. We try to book things over the phone as it is always better to tie a name to a reservation when booking. Being in HR I always try to tie names to things as in today society we generally focus on negatives with names rather than pos..."itives. As a mom of 2 we were really looking for added amenities, dont care if it is extra but having to drive, get kids in and out of the car a million times is not a vacation to anybody. When turning on the road they have gigantic stone pillars which were majestic, when we arrived at their toll booth, beautiful stone veneer and gigantic, the security guard was very nice, not the best hearing though. The nature is beautiful up here a winding road passing streams and deer and turkeys in the woods and roads.   "My family stayed in the williow brook one bedroom suite. The room was stunning everything was brand new and the kitchen was stocked. there is a large tub in the room as well as a small balcony. The galleria restraunt was amazing food but pricey. the water park was perfect not crowed at all.we only s..."aw one bear walking down the street but iam sure they are everywhere. grocery store is right down the street but you do have to pay a 1.00 toll everytime you go back in to the resort. bowling was 7 dollars a person per game but it includes your shoes. arcade games are only a dollar or two but you get alot of tickets.if you stay at this resort you must check out the split rock and just down the road at hickory run state park is boulder field and that is a MUST see also while you are there you should hike down to see hawk falls.
