  "We drove up to the area to close on my mother's old house & to reunite with some of her old neighbors. I chose this slightly out of the way location because of the lovely countryside, besides its easy on-off access to I-84. I'd stayed here once before for a HS reunion. Mom & I had endured a long bus..."y day/drive up and were grateful for the quiet comfortable room. There were no crowds, no noise. We were issued free drink and hot breakfast passes and wound up using neither - but the offer was generous. We did use the room fridge. And we ate a 'picnic' dinner out on the back patio overlooking the pond, with High Point tower in plain view in the distance. The yellow warblers, song sparrows, catbirds & robins serenaded us. A few bunnies hopped about in the grass nearby. Very lush scene. I would just suggest that the desk clerk could be a little friendlier. I run my own B&B, and I can see how the personal touches do make a difference in welcoming weary travelers. Esp. when there are no crowd... " More >
