  "We stopped here on our swing through the Southwest. The hotel sits on a bluff overlooking Monument Valley. Check in was easy and quick. Our room was great and as soon as you opened the curtains you knew why the call it the View Hotel. Spread out before you was one of the most awesome views in th..."e Southwest. At night you can see stars from horizon to horizon. In the morning, the sun lights up the valley and the buttes come alive with beautiful colors. Our room was great: room was clean, comfortable bed, shower worked fine, everything you could ask for. No food service in the restaurant during the afternoon so we went down for dinner when the restaurant opened. Food was good. I had the stew served with Navajo fry bread. It was good but just didn't quite measure up to the excellent hotel with the great service and outstanding view.   "We stayed one night at Goulding's Lodge and couldn't believe the view of Monument Valley from the sliding glass window. We woke up early to see the sunrise over the monuments and it was stunning. The room was fine and the patio was very nice, although the stray dog hanging around outside did disco..."urage its use. There was poor TV reception which may have had to do with our location. We needed help with the air conditioner, but he came to the room quite quickly and showed us how to use it. The king bed and sheets were so comfortable, the best of our Southwest trip. We ate at the restaurant and really enjoyed the Navajo tacos (thanks for telling us to get minis as the large size was overwhelming.) The adjoining museum is also very interesting. We also bought a few items in the fine gift shop. The young woman at the Front Desk was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. " More >
