We enjoyed our own continental breakfasts on the balcony each morning and the balcony furniture was comfortable to use. The room was clean and spacious enough for the two of us. Everything is conveniently located (general store, restaurant, gift shop, coffee shop, shuttle stop) and the view of Upper Yosemite Falls was fantastic. It was a truly relaxing and romantice getaway.   "I could never find a booking for a room at The Ahwahnee, I am usually a frugal traveler, but having never been to Yosemite before, and having read for years about the hotel, i was actually booked into the lodge, (Much more money than i normally spend by itself) amd got an upgrade on check in. (tha..."nk you) I got a cottage so I wasn't in the main building, but it is quite a spectacular place to just sit and wonder and marvel at the beauty surrounding you. I had heard and read for years about the Great Lounge, they had a fire going in the Huge fireplace, it makes quite an impression on you, as you sit and think of the thousands of people that have been there before you, and how absolutely wonderful the scenery is. It's quite expensive, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet i guess, I was well satisfied with the service, everyone i spoke to was friendly. It is an old hotel, but i am not as young as i used to be either. lol. " More >

  "We upgraded to a heated tent when we checked in, although I made the booking 3 months previously there were none available. Fortunately there were some free when we got there. We were visiting in May and it got cold at night, the heater was fantastic and I wouldn't want to have been in an unheated t..."ent. We stayed in tent 432 which was close to everything, the shower block, the restaurant and the wifi common room known as 'The Library' as it's so quiet. Free wifi in the library and a great fire when cold outside although it gets locked at 10am every night and opened again at 7 am ish. Food is fairly inexpensive in the restaurant about $10 for a main and 2 sides but you can take your own food you just can't eat it in the restaurant you can eat it at the 'library'. A beer cost $8!! So take your own. Don't forget a lock for the bear proof locker outside the tent and a head torch, there is no lighting around the tents. The tent had a double and 2 single beds in it so lots of...
