The owners will lend you special bracelets that entitle you to skating on the lake without a fee. The location is peaceful and beautiful; you will definitely get a good-night's sleep. Cross-country skiing trails and walking/hiking paths are nearby, the center of Techendorf is just a short walk away. The owners were very friendly. The rooms are decent-sized, with a double-bed, a couch, a table with chairs and a small fridge, as well as a balcony with a view of the lake. It's a little further from Techendorf, which has shops and restaurants, but it can be easily reached within a few minutes by bike or car. The rooms are spacious, rustic in the typically Austrian style, the bathroom was brand new and stylish. Everything was very clean. The mattresses are really soft, which for some reason is common in Austria, and not exactly the best for one's back. The hotel has its own beach, with beach-beds freely available and boats (we didn't use a boat, but these are also free). There are bikes available, also free of charge.
